Beall 1 in x 8 tpi Collet Chuck Set

I bought this because my CNC 4th Axis (rotary) did not have a Morse taper in the headstock. This threads on to the headstock. The various collets allow me to hold things like a pen mandrel as well as various other devices normally used for woodturning. The collets are a standard size (ER-32) which means I have access to odd sizes as well as the standard ones like 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2". This will be put to good use.The workmanship is very high quality. The accuracy is .003 according to the website but I did not see any noticeable runout in actual usage. Great product and would buy again, though this one will probably last for many years.

Very nicely made as I expected of Beall. I've only used this once but the quality is there and will be with me for the rest of my woodworking years and passed on to someone in the family I hope.I had to take off one star because they don't make a shopsmith version of this so I had to get an adapter from the shopsmith to a 1"-8 tpi to work with it. find a good adapter took some effort and wasn't cheap. Sure wish they would take the time to do a shopsmith version so more people could enjoy the collet chuck experence without the added cost and trouble of the adapter.

Holds the stopper arm plug securely and fast when you use the inserted wood dowel. Great addition to any wood worker with a lathe. Great quality, precise. Highly recommend.
