I wish I could have just bought the motor with this already installed at a decent price!! With that being said...man Minn Kota could not have made this any easier. The directions were easy as pie. There are also tons of YT videos on the subject. For those like me that maybe cannot afford the ipilot then this is a great alternative. I really wanted the pedal steering then when I fould out I could add a remote and keep my pedal steering I was sold. I know those with ipilot lose the foot pedal unless you mod the control board. I myself do not need ipilot for my little boat, and I have found that using the remote in conjunction with the foot control gives me excellent control over my boat positioing. I am no longer fighting trying to fish with keeping my boat in proximity to my target. Was easy to install and work great

The Copilot is very easy to install, took me about 15 min and it was done. On the water this thing is amazing. No more trying to use your foot when fishing. I was standing up in the front of the boat maneuvering through stumps with precision. I was also able to go from the front of the boat to the back of the boat and still maneuver the boat while fishing.Once you have this remote you will not want to go back to foot controlled.

It has made using the trolling motor so much easier to control. Practically hands free steering.Good quality product.Excellent performance.

original foot pedal was a disaster, whereby two units failed due to unprotected circuit board which delaminated, a truely bad engineering design.....this unit appears fully waterproof, control is sealed and floats.Only negative is the no LED on remote to tell when motor is on, which is a severely lacking feature. Design of the remote could have been a larger fob with bigger keys, but is adequate.

I got a new Minn Kota Power Drive 2 years ago, and while it worked fine, the foot pedal control was awkward for me, and hard to make small adjustments. I don't get to boat/fish as often as I like, and it took me half a day each trip to get confident with the foot pedal. This wireless controller installed easily, about 15 min and a screwdriver is all that is needed. Worked great right away. Much easier to control direction and speed of the trolling motor with the handheld remote. I wish I had purchased this 2 years ago! Makes fishing much more enjoyable. works well anywhere in my 18' center console. Only issue I had was when a few passengers got between me and the motor it wouldn't respond, one step to my left and it worked. Can't speak to battery life on remote yet, just used it on one 4 day fishing trip so far, with no issues. The foot pedal stays in the boat for a backup, but I don't keep it plugged in.

I did a lot of research before ordering this unit. I have a minn kota power drive 55lb bt bowmount trolling motor. Install was incredibly easy. 30 min start to finish. Youtube videos help but the provided instructions were extremely thorough. Only need a screwdriver. The only tough part was squeezing the cables back under the housing but it only took me a few minutes to get it figured out. I now have remote control from anywhere on my boat. This is not i-pilot but for a fraction of the cost, it gives me a remote option as well as allowing the footpedal to still work as backup. Very happy with this upgrade. Amazon had this cheaper than anywhere else along with lightning fast delivery. Highly recommend.

Installed the co pilot in about 15 minutes, and it worked perfectly. Just need to be careful with where your wires run when you put the covers back on. Only tool you need is a screwdriver.... its that easy. Personally, i find it's easier to drive with this than with the foot pedal.Great buy, great product so far, arrived quickly and BassPro didn't have it in store or online but I found it here no problems.

Came quick, installs in a few minutes. Only need a screw driver to install, super simple. Great to have the ability to control the trolling motor with.

Super easy installation works really well. I wear it like a necklace wandering all over the boat making adjustments when needed.
