RegalTip 114NT Regal Hick Nt Sticks J.C.

Great Regal finish great for lower volume playing.

This stick has a bit less "heft" than a Regal 5A. It's well-balanced and fast. The famous Regal Tip finish is there. All other brands of sticks, I have to coat with shellac. I ordered two pairs. One pair had two completely different pitches, even though they were weight-matched.. I guess Regal Tip doesn't pitch-pair their sticks (?). I used to pitch-pair them myself back in the day when I got them in music stores. But none of my local stores carry much of a selection, so I have to get them online.The nylon tips get a noticeably brighter sound than wood tips on the cymbals. but they don't bring out as much fullness. On the other hand, they give you more cut-through on the cymbals.Still loving Regal Tips after many decades! But pitch-pairing would be nice for those of us who buy them online.

A long time Regal Tip JC player ... Though manufactured to exacting size, the overall lighter weight/density and feel of the stick is totally different.
