Q: What kind of gelatin is used in it?

It indicates that contains gelatin, but does not provide any more information than that.....(no specifics)

Q: how big is capsule? if tasteless, can it be opened into a shake or might it gum up blender? does anyone cut capsule and drink it?

These are soft gels which cannot be opened but I guess could be cut but would be a big mess. I wouldn't recommend it. My husband takes these 1 inch long soft gels but I buy the Now brand Omega-3 mini gels and take 4 per day. Amazon ASIN ‏ : ‎ B003EX82DW. They have a good amount of EPA and DHA and are more economical than other brands I have checked.
