For its size, price and capabilities, the SJCAM C100 Mini Waterproof Action Camera is far above the rest of the class, and a fun little gadget anyone of any age will love. Of course, in my youth, I could never imagine a device like this even existing, at any price, and I have been an avid user of film and video cameras my entire life. I started with Kodak Instamatic 110 as a child and moved onto Super 8 film as soon as I saved the $100 one of those damn cameras cost. It seems so primitive now, but this was the cutting edge back then. Then, video tape cameras came out and you needed hundreds or thousands of dollars for a decent one of those. This SJCAM C100 does everything all those devices did better and in a smaller, way cooler package at a fraction of the cost I was paying decades ago. This camera comes complete with various mounting hardware, so it can be attached to just about any surface for any extreme, action-packed or normal situation. That’s handy. There’s also a detachable lanyard for holding on the wrist. The back of the waterproof camera body is also magnetic so it can be attached to most metal surfaces. The camera is waterproof to a depth of 98 feet and that’s deeper than most people are going to need. I cannot wait to try it out on my next trip to the Caribbean. This palm-sized little gem shoots high definition 1080p video at 30 frames per second, so the image is stable and clean, especially for something so small. The 115 degree field of view captures all the action you can see, and the 15 megapixel still camera shoots very nice quality still photos. It really does it all, and at this price point (under $60 at the time of this review), you really can’t lose with the SJCam C100. It’s also available in several fun colors and shoots for three hours on a single charge. Great little camera!
