Alternatively you could eat one entire package a day. Oatmeal one day, Mac & cheese the next day, and of Creamy Rice & Vegetable for the last day. In dire circumstances city folks could add garden veggies, squirrel stray cats and dogs. In our neighborhood we’d use garden veggies, elk, deer, salmon, oysters, shrimp, clams fish, bear, pheasant, doves, duck, maybe geese that we try to keep our freezer full of.

Ok, so the first misconception is that this is a total meal replacement for 3 days. That is not the case. These are emergency food rations, not gourmet meals. 1200 calories a day is enough to survive on until you are able to source a better/more abundant food source. Instead of wondering about your caloric intake worry more about how to obtain/make clean drinking water. You can go 3 minutes with out air, 3 days without water and 3 weeks without food. For what these are designed for (EMERGENCY rations), they are just fine.
