Profound, Fun and Easy to Understand
Magic Realist press have a wonderful way of making images that fascinate, intrigue and make you feel good!Although this deck is based on cats wearing fancy costumes and who are placed in human poses and situations, this deck is very easy to understand and yet deep in meaning. It would offer additional insights for those who keep to the Rider-Waite tradition. The cats, costumes, backgrounds and props are so stunning and vibrant, I want to step into the card to experience it!This deck is accompanied by a beautifully bound in-depth book, which explains, in detail, the imagery and the meaning of the card. The cards are a good size, with a matt finish but not very robust. The deck and book comes in an easily accessible box. It comers with one extra, special card too.Given that I'm not keen on cats but love this deck, I imagine that someone who does love cats would indeed fall madly in love with it! Recommended for all, for beginners and experienced readers.

A beautiful tarot deck ...
Although not a cat person (more dog!) this has to be one of the most beautiful tarot decks I have seen! Since getting it from Amazon, I have been drawn to the cards time and time again. The book which accompanies the deck is well written, informative but not at all stuffy. The added "cats interpretation" of each card is a unique and light-hearted look at the cards. If you only buy one tarot deck and you want one which is visually stunning, then go for this one!!!

Magic Realism Press did it again!
In-spite of not being a cat person, this deck is wonderful to look at and even more wonderful to have! Unlike many decks where "you've seen one card -you've seen it all", the Baroque Bohemian Cats, is a pleasure to go through, card after card, time after time, due to the amazing amount of detail and effort that has been poured into.I love how all the cats used are different, all caught in a moment when the expression is the strongest. Once I gazed at the King of Swords, the intensity of his eyes never leaves me.Another thing I like about this deck is how the visual interpretations are given a creative twist. One can easily recognize the connection with the well known Rider deck and use this previous knowledge, but here you also get a new take on it. BBCats demonstrates how the creators' artistic expertise is combined with deep Tarot knowledge and understanding, not to mention that they definitely "know" cats! The book is thoroughly researched and very well written, but in a simple to grasp language, making the reading a pleasure. There is a Cat's Interpretation for each card as well, and if it does not add a significant insight, it definitely cracks a wide smile! One can never get tired of this deck, always discovering a new piece of lace, a hidden symbol or another silent cat message. This is a deck with a timeless quality, going against all simplicity and minimalism. Baba studio have definitely rediscovered the old-forgotten formula, where no detail is ever too many. The only question is whether we are ready to appreciate this style and such a high quality today . And we better be...!

Fantastic cats and, yes, it is ethical
The cats were photographed in their normal state (i.e. without clothes) and in normal cat-like postures, and then the images were adapted using Photoshop and incorporating the most lovely miniature Baroque costumes. That out of the way, the deck itself is superb. Every image is a joy. Some of the images are sad, some are rather whimsical, some are funny (in an ironic kind of way). The cats attend masqued balls, go to the theatre, ride through Prague's elegant streets, all the time illustrating the archetypal truths embodied in the 78 cards of the Tarot. Cats aside, it's a traditional deck with 22 Major Arcana; the 56 Minors are divided up into the usual 4 suits. It is good for readings. The book that goes with it is well-written- not pretentious and not fluffy-bunny (fluffy-cat ?) either, just useful and interesting. The creators of this deck also created the Tarot of Prague. I felt then that they would not be able to surpass themselves, so excellent was that deck.In fact, I think they have. Beginners could use these cards, I think, but it has something for everybody. Except those who really can't abide cats. Heartily recommended.
