Fit perfect on my 2000 civic hatch. No issues at all. Lifts gate with a lift of the finger and after about 6 inches rises on its own

I have had these on my list for awhile. I have a 99 civic hatchback and mine have been shot for 5 years. I have been using a stick to hold it up and it's far from light to open without these working. It only took a couple of minutes to remove the old ones and install these. Now the hatch opens with the greatest of ease. For the price, I should have done this long ago.

Had to modify a bit to get it to fit on my 2000 civic hatch.

These struts worked great on a 1999 Civic DX hatch. They have enough balls for you to open the liftgate by hand a bit then stand back and watch the magic. Easy to install, remove plastic surrounding the old strut brackets, unbolt struts, install these and pop the plastic back in...done. Everything went smoothly, definitely recommend for the price.

These WILL fail, it’s just a matter of when...While the lift struts them selves seem nice, some clown thought it was necessary to residing the ends eliminating the bushing on the car side and the ball joint on the other side. Eliminating this ball joint greats 2 problems...1. It cannot pivot when you open the hatch forcing the struts to bend (yes they are installed in the correct side..).2. The factory design allowing you to remove 1 clip and 1 bolt per side, this new “design” makes you need to remove the 4 pieces of plastic trim and R&R 6 bolts.. again only to eliminate the properly designed ball joint..Most of the time only 1 of the lifts fail at a time, take your $38 to your local auto parts and replace the one that failed and don’t waste your money on this JUNK kit

This item was pointlessly redesigned, presumably so it would fit MULTIPLE models from different years .. but what should have been a 10 minute easy installation WOULD have been hours of completely disassembling my back hatch to to get the attachment end to fit ... Instead I saved myself the Extreme hassle and just RETURNED them. I should be able to find proper replacements at a local part store.
