Works better than expected!
I use this for my tascam 05x and didn't expect much from it, but it's built very well and the quality feels great. It wound up cancelling a lot of vibrations that the recorder would constantly pick up. 10/10 recommendation for vibration interruptions! Works on a number of different mounts too which is very handy.

Cheap But Effective
When purchasing the Zoom H1n recorder, I had a choice of choosing a rigid one-piece mount for my digital camera or this Movo SMM5-B.I chose the latter because I wanted the flexibility of being able to position the recorder forward or backward relative to the camera. It certainly allowed for that. The slight springiness of this mount was slightly disconcerting when I mounted it to my camera but it is supposed to do that in order to reduce physical shock. It's also better for your camera's hotshoe. The best part is that my Zoom recorder didn't pick up any extraneous noises when recording through physical movement.So....5 stars!

Reducing handheld noise....
Bought to use with a Tascam DR-40X. Noise from handling the recorder while recoring can be a problem, even if you attach a handle to it. Using this makes a huge difference. It comes with adapters to match the European mic stand threads (3/8"), and a camera flash mount to the 1/4" threads on a the back of the Tascam. Good isolation while still providing a sturdy mount.

Effective in isolating handling noise. Excellent price-performance
I own a couple of these shock mounts and use them with Zoom H5 and Sony PCM-D100 recorders. The Movo SMM5 does what it is supposed to do: noticeably reduces handling (aka mechanically transferred) noise. I have taken mine to a dozen of field recording outings. So far, they are holding up pretty well: plastic parts look intact, all screws are in place, and the rubber pad on top is still grippy and properly attached to the base.Pros:* Effective in isolating the mechanically transferred noise* Materials and construction are adequate for the price. (Compare it to Rycote Portable Recorder Suspension if you wish 😉)* I like the sliding screw design of the recorder attachment. It really works securing a device at the balanced, center-of-mass positionCons:* I wish MOVO included 3/8" to 1/4" bushing. I use my SMM5's mounted on a tripod ball head, so a tiny 3/8" to 1/4" bushing would be a better alternative to the included bulkier cold shoe adapterNote: I have both Black and Red versions of the Movo SMM5. I am attaching photos of the Red version, but functionally they are exactly the same.

WOW!!!!! this mount is the game changer. No more vibration while moving and recording. Great product. Will purchase two more for my other camers.

Great for low weight items
I bought this because it claims to work with not only the Zoom H1n, but the Zoom H6. While it technically "fits" the H6, this shock mount does not handle the weight of the H6 well at all. It'll be collapsed within a couple of days if you use it with something of that size.It does seem to work just fine with the tiny, light weight H1n, though. I would definitely recommend it if that's the recorder that you're mounting on it.

Well made but not sturdy enough for my purposes
I purchased this because I'm too cheap to buy a higher end product. I wanted to like it but the flexible arms are too weak to hold my Zoom H6 recorder. After about 10 minutes of use, the recorder leans over to the side. And if you're trying to "aim" the recorder/mic at a particular subject, that's a pretty big problem. I have a bunch of other Movo products and have always been happy, but this one just doesn't do it for me.

A must-have for Zoom H3-VR
This thing is perfect for the Zoom H3-VR. This particular Zoom unit makes incredible stereo and ambisonic audio (if you're willing to sync in post) but is pretty darn sensitive to handling noise. This Move shock mount fixes the transmitted noise problem providing excellent isolation for any reasonable amount of movement. It also helps to move the mic high enough above the viewfinder on my Fujifilm XT-30 that I can get my head in there. With the mount, the conical Zoom and a dead cat windscreen, it's a pretty comical looking rig but that is completely beside the point. I can finally do on-camera (or on tripod or handgrip) recording using the fantastic audio qualities of the H3-VR with excellent shock and vibration isolation. And for short money to boot.
