Essentials of Quranic Arabic: Volume 1

Very good book will help with online classes. However I will use the online book. The only thing I don't like about this book is the Arabic print is way too small for these old eyes. . Even with a magnifying glass. I can't tell the vowel markers and some letters.

The author has effectively organized the lessons to assist the student in being able to make the connections between the grammatical concepts and how they function in sentences or phrases within sentences. As a student of Qur'anic Arabic, you will begin to see that the language has many nuances serving as a stimulus to further appreciate the depth, breadth, scope of the language as revealed and articulated in The Qur'an.As an added bonus, free of charge, the author has made available video instructional lessons of the chapters in volume one. I highly recommend Essentials of Qur'anic Arabic Volume 1 it will give you the necessary foundation to continue on at the intermediate and advanced levels of studying Qur'anic Arabic grammar.

This is a beautiful book for anyone who desires to learn Qur'anic Arabic. I am a serious student of the Arabic language and I bought this book for a friend of mine who wishes to be able to read the Qur'an in Arabic. The book is very detailed, explains grammar points clearly, and includes a large amount of vocabulary found in the Qur'an. The book itself is glossy and beautifully illustrated. I was very happy to find this book and it makes a beautiful gift for anyone who desires to learn the Arabic of the Qur'an.

This book makes Quranic Arabic grammer easy. It needs no teacher. Lots of examples from the Quran. But, one thing, thought. You must have some basic knowledge about the Quran and Arabic language before you can read it by yourself. Otherwise, read with someone else who possess that knowledge. I am happy and a regular user of this book. Finally, the price is so affordable!

I purchased digital version of this book recently. Alhamdulillah, the foreward and preface are excellent and inspiring. The content is also great. However, I have noted some serious errors in this electronic version. This is likely due to error/inabilility of the software used to correctly convert arabic script from the print version into digital version (It is making mirror image of the arabic word thus changing the word entirely and making it nonsensical- Analogy: Turning "AMAZON" into "NOZAMA". Please see attached sample images from the kindle desktop version of book vs. 'look inside" version of book on amazon website). The mistake is apparent to anyone who is familiar with the Qur'an, but it may not be appreciable to a person who is new to the language/Qur'an.I have verified that the error is not there in other Digital formats including "Kindle apple app" and "Kindle android aap".I have reached out to the author who has acknowledged my concerns and said that he will see what can be done to rectify the problem. Until then, I would recommend all to check and make sure that your digital version is correct.I highly recommend this book as an inspiring and resourceful asset to anyone interested in Qur'anic studies. I pray that The Almighty reward the author and all those involved in making the book possible. Aameen.AM

I give it a 3 star, out of 5 stars, because of the many typos and mistakes. I feel, the book was not proofread by somebody who knows both English and Arabic, and took the time needed to do a good job. Hope the author prints a new edition, with all the mistakes corrected.

A necessary book for any beginner wishing to learn Quranic Arabic. The video classes through IOU help immensely and complement the book.

This book was intended to be for my father, and he is always looking at it. I appreciate this offer!

Awesome book lived it

Good book for an English speaker. You will benefit a lot more however if taught with a teacher or with the video course taught by the author at Islamic Online University as the book requires more elaboration to understand some of the more complex elements of Arabic.

Gostei muito do livro, é de fácil compreensão e bem completo. Quero comprar o vol. 2 que trata sobre conjugação verbal, já neste temos Na7u (gramática).

Quite easy to understand. Simple English. Must have for anyone who wishes to understand Quranic arabic in plain simple english.

Fantastic book if you want to get a grip on Arabic grammar . Really recommend this book if you want to start to understand the Quran. Written simply, which is why I give it 5 stars as there are too many over complicated books on Arabic Grammar.
