Perfect for journaling
I’ve seen all my superiors using these and I love to journal every day, so naturally I picked these because they’re fairly priced and hold together well.

The Old Memories Are Fine
If anybody had to pull duty in barracks, at sea, wherever ...You know this is a cool logbook, a reliable item, and rather inspiring to an old salt anyway.I will use one for budget, one for my Great American Novel notes, and one for mileage maybe.I gave a couple out to vet friends and family-- because they dig that memory lane trip too perhaps a jot.And I will likely get more when I run out.I am very happy they still make them and sell them. Thanks Amazon. Exactly as advertised.
Knew exactly what to expect and it was delivered. These are very tightly bound, and historically have lasted for years of use. For those who are looking for the older cloth covered books, they're not made anymore. Not much more you can say about a memorandum book.

Perfect for Journals
I found an unused copy of this book at work and thought it would be terrific for journal keeping. I haven't been disappointed. I've been writing in these books for almost two years and keep plenty on hand. The lines are perfectly spaced for the average writer and there are a large number of pages. I tend to write more than one page a day and I one book can store up to 2 months. If you're looking for a journal that goes the distance and more, this is it.

OVERPRICED AS HELL
Look, if I could give this thing ZERO stars, I WOULD. I got one of these from the MCSS at Drum about 8 months ago. $4.45.In case you CAN'T DO BASIC MATH, let me spell it out for you:69.20 (the cost of this item) divided by 12 (the number of individual logbooks) equals 5.77 per item.Buyers: YOU'RE OVERPAYING.Sellers: YOU'RE OVERCHARGING.Don't think for a SINGLE SECOND that this veteran doesn't know his stuff, I WILL prove you wrong. And no, I DON'T care if this is the price you saw at some local surplus store.

not what they used to be...
I served a number of years ago and still have a few of these books from my time in service. They were well made little notebooks and so when the need came up recently for a good quality hard cover notebook for a reasonable cost I instantly thought back to these and ordered a dozen. You can imagine my surprise when I opened the package to find something far different from the notebooks I still had. The overall quality is significantly inferior - the cover material does not seem to me to be cloth at all but some sort of textured paper. The card stock cover itself seems to be thinner than the older ones. I haven't yet tested the paper quality as I immedaitely put these in a corner and haven't looked at them since they arrived.Does anyone know if this is an actual change to the specification standard for these books or are the notebooks I received simply phonies that are just stamped and made to look like the notebooks i remember?

Army Notebook
The seller did a fine job. It arrived on time. These books have a smooth binding rather than the canvas/cloth mesh binding. The seller claimed the books had the cloth cover and showed a picture of some that do. The books I was sent do not have a cloth cover. That's a personal preference as the smooth bindings tend to tear up faster through normal use. That said, the books are in mint condition. Otherwise the books are as described inside with the ruled note pages - one must be careful not to get the ledger style which is lined differently. Sometimes the Gov Printing press screws up and binds the pages lined upside down; fortunately that was not the case with this batch. Now if they could just bring the price down a bit.
