Review: this product is AMAZING-I have purchase different teas and sleep tablets to help me fall asleep and stay asleep well one night the family was over and because of the laughing and playing and recalling old memories I did not take anything and because it was late pass 10 pm I could not drink my tea so the only thing left was the Tryptophan and wow I slept all night and I did not get up until 7 and I felt so good that I was able to get on with my usual activity -I recommend these pills for a good night sleep with few pills Review: I was looking for something that would help calm my natural anxiety and help me relax before bed time. My doctor has recommended that I go to bed earlier, and it was a struggle at first to get myself to relax enough to be able to fall asleep early. L-Tryptophan is fabulous. I take one capsule to take the edge off earlier in the evening, and then one about a half hour or so before I want to actually go to sleep. It does its job! It does not, however, stop me from waking up in the middle of the night. I typically wake up anywhere from one to four or five times a night. Perhaps at a higher dosage it would, but I am nervous about taking too much and "snowing myself" for the following day. As far as I can tell it doesn't make me groggy at all in the morning which is great. I would recommend this product to anyone who is struggling with anxiety and/or needs help falling asleep. It is far safer than a prescription sleep medication. I have been on products like Ambien and trazodone in the past, and these had the effect of making me feel tired all day afterwards, as well as giving me unbelievable brain fog. Stick to natural solutions if you can! Other tips: use a red light in your environment before bed time; do deep breathing/meditation before bed; stop watching tv/computer about a half hour or earlier before bed etc. So many times we tell ourselves "oh there is no way that would work" or "I don't have time for that," but honestly, rest is so important - make time for yourself. Your body will thank you.

I had no idea I might be low on some amino acids, nor that supplementing could be so helpful. My brother recommended them for help sleeping and mood support, and they’ve delivered! Both my mood and sleep have improved so much. I feel balanced in a way I maybe never have. I decided to take these in the evening and use l-tyrosine in the daytime. The combination has been fabulous! I take about 500ml of each. Sometimes I take 1000 mg of the l-tryptophan and gosh I sleep soooo well. I wouldn’t say these are wholly sleep inducing, but they do help me sleep, fall asleep faster, and feel well rested when I wake — something I’ve never really experienced. They don’t make me groggy, and I wake up so much less cranky! For the first week I could literally feel the relaxation in my whole being. That has worn off a bit, but I think I just got used to feeling good and relaxed so it’s not such a stark contrast anymore. I’ve suffered with depression, lethargy, and general malaise for most of my life. I wouldn’t say these are an antidepressant, per se, but adding them with the l-tyrosine has improved my mood a TON! I think I was very low on these amino acids and just didn’t know it. I’m mostly vegetarian, but even when I do eat meat, I don’t eat much; I’ve never eaten seafood and recently stopped eating eggs, so I’m sure I wasn’t getting enough amino acids. Plus, food is just low nutrition these days and we all should think about ensuring we get what our body needs to maintain a good state of mind and energy. I genuinely believe these could help others. If you struggle with sleep and low mood, I’d certainly give these a shot. Maybe even try l-tyrosine in the day to see what works for you. I think it’s important to take them on an empty stomach so make sure to do that or else the effects may not be very apparent, as they compete with what you’re taking in from your meals.

I used to use melatonin for sleep for occasional use. Then I found out about this and it had a higher recommendation, mostly because it's safer, as melatonin has some serious downsides depending on how it's used or overused. I guess this does give me a calm, I have to do more testing, but for straight knocking me out for sleep, I don't think this does that. It's more of a slow acting substance. This is something I would take a couple times through the day and a couple hours before bedtime.

My husband uses this to help him fall asleep and he likes it real well. Been using it for years now.
