Delicious and Drama-filled
This book is filled with ups and downs and plenty of spice. I have already seen the movie and yet I couldn't put the book down. It was an addicting read.

Excellent Romance
Much thanks for the movies! I am reading the books now that I have seen them all. This author did not disappoint me because the books are so much more. One of my new favorite authors.

the emotion
This book is so well written. Hard to read at times because he is very emotionally abusive. She is so naïve. You want her to run but route for the relationship all at the same time. You want her to love and be with Hardin but know how toxic he is. I absolutely loved this book. Read it In three days. So much better then the movie

Not everyone’s cup of tea, but it was mine for sure.
I want to start off by saying that this book is not for everyone. The reason I say this is because this book is real. The issues the couple faces and the way that the characters interact are very real. I say this because as a young adult I relate to this book a lot. It’s not a sugar coated story where everything is happy and bright. The characters struggle and to me that was the best thing about this series. Even as a fan of the book I could totally understand why someone wouldn’t enjoy reading it, but I enjoyed the book because of how raw it was. Hardin clearly loves Tessa but as the books progress it’s obvious he’s scared. (He does redeem himself in the other books.)I enjoyed seeing how the characters grew from the first book to the last book. When reading this book, I think people forget that Tessa and Hardin are very young. They are both at a confusing time in their lives, college. They both struggle with finding their way along with family issues.Tessa SEEMS like the perfect girl. It appears as though she has her whole life planned out, but it’s not really the life she wants. She sees college as an opportunity to find herself and eventually she does at the end of the series. Yes she makes mistakes, but what college student doesn’t? Same thing goes for Hardin and though what he did is unforgivable at times, it’s important to know that he KNOWS that he messed. He feels remorse and does try to make up for it. Hardin’s character growth was the best to me because the truth is, the world is full of Hardin’s who just never got their story told. The way he matures and the way that Tessa’s love changed him into a better man is what makes the story so good. Yes there is a HEA at the end of the series, but it’s a long journey. This is not a happy romance where the couple faces one or two problems and then gets married. There are a lot of hurdles but to me it just makes for a more interesting story.Lastly, as a reader you can take away a lot from this story. Personally what stuck with me was that love is not always easy. Realistically, a couple will grow through a lot of problems. Will they be as extreme as Hessa’s? Probably not. But what’s important is that they make it through with more love for each other. They end up in a happy, non-toxic relationship. There are more important lessons but I would prefer not to spoil the books.I related to this book a lot because quite honestly the characters were lost. I’m at a point in my life where I have that same sort of feeling. Tessa and Hardin have some major problems but they over come them. This book showed me that sometimes being lost isn’t always bad because the end results can be worth it. I don’t mean that in a romantic way but more in a general way. Also, many people do think that Hessa was a toxic relationship. I personally don’t because Tessa was lost before Hardin and Hardin was lost before Tessa. Many think that’s tessa was better off without him, but I don’t think she was really herself. She was the person the people around her wanted her to be, not the person she wanted to be. Hardin showed her who she was and she did the same for him. I don’t think Hardin was really living before he met Tessa and Tessa wasn’t truly happy until she met Hardin. This is my interpretation but everyone views things differently.

4 Roller Coaster Ride Romance, Passion, Betrayal, and Love-Hate Filled Stars!!!
My Thoughts:I enjoy discovering new-to-me-authors and book series. So when I got After by Anna Todd in the mail, I was intrigued to see that it had such a popular following on WattPad. Not to mention that the book synopsis looked interesting. My co-blogger, Ria, has read this book and enjoyed it as well; so I was very excited to give it a shot! After was a very addictive read! I didn't want to put it down for any reason. However, this book is not for everyone. It is a bit controversial, and readers tend to either love it or hate it! After is about Theresa (Tessa), a freshman college student who is moving away from home for the first time, and rooming in a dorm. She is a very studious, hardworking, and series student, with precise plans and goals for her future. She has a solid boyfriend, who is a year younger than her, and plans on joining her at the same college next year.Tessa's life gets turned upside down when she meets Hardin, a sexy British bad boy who is use to getting his way. Hardin is good friends with Steph, Tessa's new room mate. As Tessa gets to know Steph, they start hanging out with the same group of friends. Things begin to get complicated when Tessa and Hardin share a scorching mutual attraction, and begin a roller coaster "friendship" with one another. They're either yelling at each other, or ready to tear each other's clothes off. Tessa feels guilty because she has a boyfriend, yet she can't stay away from Hardin. She is addicted to him. Does Hardin have sincere feelings for Tessa, or is he just toying with her emotions? After was filled with intense drama, major angst, plot twists, unpredictability, and searing chemistry between the main characters, Tessa and Hardin. It was realistic of many young relationships. Hardin has anger issues, due to a dysfunctional and traumatic past. He struggled with his emotions, and whenever he was angry, he would lash out and say whatever he knew would hurt Tessa the most. He was immature, had major mood swings, and was very insecure. He also had an air of vulnerability, and could be really sweet at times. Tessa and Hardin's relationship was very dysfunctional, and they were constantly engaging in a push-pull dynamic with one another. It was very similar to many high school relationships that I have witnessed. There was a lot of mystery surrounding Hardin and his past. I wanted to figure out why he was the way that he was. Tessa appeared to have the perfect boyfriend before she met Hardin. Yet, their relationship lacked passion, and it bothered me that her boyfriend would tattle on her to her mother about things that Tessa confided in him about. It seemed like they were together more out of comfort than anything else. So, even though I don't agree with cheating, I can see why she was searching for more passion and adventure in her life.Reading After is like watching your favorite Soap Opera unfold. The high tension, drama, and plot twists keep your attention, and you become addicted, having to watch your show to see what will happen next. You shout at the screen, "What are you doing?" You want to slap a few characters, and talk some sense in to others. Yet, you can't stop watching what is unfolding before your very eyes... If you enjoy Soap Opera's, drama, unpredictability, lies, betrayal, passion, love, and scorching hot scenes, check this book out! I'm off to begin book 2, and I can't wait to see what will happen next...My Rating:I give After, by Anna Todd, 4 Roller Coaster Ride Romance, Passion, Betrayal, and Love-Hate Filled Stars!!!My Favorite Quotes:"My feelings for Hardin are so confusing. I hate him one minute and want to kiss him the next. He makes me feel things that I never knew I could, and not just sexually. He makes me laugh and cry, yell and scream, but most of all he makes me feel alive."~Tessa"You aren't my type, just the way that I am not yours. But that's why we are good for each other--we are so different, yet we're the same. You told me once that I bring out the worst in you. Well, you bring out the best in me."~Hardin

A whirlwind of emotions
This is a review for all 4+1 books (with no spoilers)From the second I picked up this series to read, I was captivated. I found myself stealing moments to read and spending hours with my face lazor focused on my screen. I love the soul defining connection between Tessa and Hardin. I felt like I was transported into the pages with them as I read their love story. I rooted for them, cried for them, and felt truly lost for them as I read their story. Their toxic beginning turned growth turned undying love pulled at my heart and I couldn't rest until they found their happily ever after. I will say, I watched the movies before I read the books (my mistake) and I'm pleastantly surprised on how close to the story/timeline they kept to one another.I also loved the growth in other characters and hated others. I'm talking about you Zed.Also---I annoyed the crap out of my husband for the last few weeks reading this series. lol

After.
