Ambient Weather EZ-125-35M 35" Mast Extension for Weather Stations

SOOO much better than a piece of junk antenna mast I bought at Lowes (branded RCA but a pice of cheaply painted tin made by God knows who). While I did need to use a wooden rake handle/ dowel that fit inside the tube ( after drilling a small hole and using a wood screw to hold the handle in place) to fit my AcuRite 5 in 1 Weather Station on top, this worked well because it allowed my to fix the station on the proper compass beading and keep it there easily. Superior contstuction and thickness ( without a great deal of weight) , symmetrical crimping to ensure better straightness and plumb, rigidity and finish all make this a first choice of a mast !

This is a pole to fit the tripod that holds my weather station out in the yard. They called a pole in the description and that is what it is. I won’t insult you with instructions on how it is assembled. You can figure it out for yourself. I don’t remember if there were any instructions, but I am a guy so I wouldn’t have read them anyways. Anyhow, it’s a big heavy pole suitable for just about anything you would want to do with a big heavy pole.

As specified

The mast extension has worked very well in the last 1.5 years of use. No evidence of corrosion, etc. Would recommend that the crimped section that hold the two sections together have some type of bolt reinforcement to prevent a slight wobbling that can occur between the sections. I have a Ambient Weather rain gauge with a bubble level that sometimes gets off level slightly when the two sections move slightly. Otherwise, a good product, easy to setup and mount.

Some things are hard to review. This is a metal pole or a metal pipe, tapered at one end. Used to mount your weather station or weather station accessories or to get you weather instruments higher. It is as fine a pole/pipe as I have ever seen but it's just a poleand because of that maybe a little pricey. Be aware that the diameter of this pole does not coincide with the diameter of the pole supplied with some Ambient Weather stations and so you will not be able to insert this into some weather station's pole or vice versa. I made that mistake and had to return this item.

It fits the mast holder I have that I pound into the ground in my backyard. The one I have right now is a wire that ties off to the top of the mast. This works well enough for my usage. The pieces slip into each other easily and haven't come apart even in strong storms.

I bought these for extending the mast of an Ambient Weather tripod. They're made of the same 18-gauge galvanized steel as the tripod. They easily assemble and can be locked together tightly manually, with a twist.

did not fit my mounting tube which is 1.50 and these are 1.25. I had to go to Lowes and see what if anything could adapt to my mount. Ended up finding a PVC union that I sanded down to fit inside and another to fit on top took most of my Sunday. Also used these upside down and cut one of the tubes crimped side off so it would fit the unit. see picture.
