Kodiak Futons Phoenix Sofa bed, Full, Suede Navy

I love this futon! It comes in three heavy boxes, be warned. My husband put it together alone for the most part. Use the video! I helped him line up the frames in the beginning and helped him fit the bed frame into the futon frame at the end. It took several hours but would have been faster with two people. He put the big screws in backwards that hold the bed into the futon frame, which was the only issue he had. I looked at the written instructions and told him what was wrong :) so use the written instructions and the video together. Overall he didn’t think it was a big deal to put together, which says a lot because he hates that stuff.Now on to the completed futon... the mattress is FIRM! I mean, comfortable firm! Haven’t slept on it yet but I spent so much time laying on it as a couch. I bought this to turn my guest room into an office. Because we were getting rid of a really nice bed I was nervous because I wanted my guests to be comfortable. I could not be happier with this! My husband told me to get a good one (even if it meant spending a little more) and he keeps praising me what a good pick this was. It is beautiful and comfortable. Get it!

Very Nice looking bed. Not super comfortable as is somewhat firm for my taste but I added a 3" foam mattress and a cushioned mattress pad and it is pretty good now. Much better than pull out sofa with the bar in your back. The bed is really great and the pull out side tables are handy. One of my side arms had a good size chunk of wood missing, most likely occurred in shipping. Amazon was good to work with me on this. Very nice looking and functional. I did need help when building it for some of the steps but I am not very strong. It has been laid out as a bed since I put it together so I cant speak to how easy it is or isn't to put it back into the couch position. Overall I am very happy with this purchase and would buy it again.

No assembly instructions in box, had to watch assembly video on Kodiak site while putting together. Video was very straightforward and easy to follow. For the people that say the seat does not stay locked in place, you need to make sure you follow the instructions in the video so the rail with the clips is on the correct side of the frame. Very nice quality, but it is expensive. We purchased a cheaper futon in the past for our other daughter at college and it was a waste of money.

For assembly instructions USE THE VIDEO. It is so easy to follow. It took my husband and I about 45 min to one hour to assemble. It was really easy just time consuming. I think one person could do it alone. I love the design. The side tables are a nice addition. Fabric is good quality. Color is nicer shade of blue than pictured. Mattress is nice. I did add a memory foam topper as my daughter uses it for extended periods when home between semesters. The wood is pretty and good quality also. So far it appears very sturdy. Only downside is I cannot open and close by myself.

I was nervous about spending so much on an item that I hadn't physically touched. But after reading the reviews I went ahead and ordered. And.........wow!!!! This futon is everything they say. It's great! It's both sturdy and comfy. If I had to purchase another futon, I'd reorder this one.

Beautiful to look at, comfortable, but not user friendly. It won't stay in the sitting position. the mattress is so thick it pushes the bed flat, won't stay folded so i the wall keeping it up. the frame should have had the capability to lock so it will stay in place. oh well. im stuck with it now

I love the color of the futon mattress and I love the wood base with drawers. However one of the arms came in damaged. Also the mattress is not as comfortable as they make it seem to be.

Not only did the company supply well written instructions they have a great online video that makes it real easy to put together. I made a stupid mistake putting it together. E mailed them a question and they got right back to me.
