I didn't notice a smell while it was dry, but when i started to wash one in the sink it filled the bathroom with a horrible stink. I'm not smell-sensative, since i smoked for years and used to clean public bathrooms and a vet clinic, but this was STRONG. So, i soaked them in Oxyclean, then borax, AND washed them 3 times. They are getting less stinky. The edges aren't hemmed, but they are otherwise decent-looking, they just smell like rotten ash trays mixed with homeless people on a hot day.

The are very colorful and are exactly as described. I gave them 4 stars because I feel like they are a little tight.

I used these while hiking in Europe. I could run one under cold water, put it on my neck or wear as a headband and it cooled me fabulously.
