Sleep Bliss!
SHORT VERSION: I did a lot of research, spent a lot of money and time on finding the "perfect mattress/topper combination"and WISH I had discovered Vytex and their laytex toppers ...First! I would have saved several months, lots of money and frustration. The customer service went beyond my expectations and surpassed the "physical salesman" I met with in the box store. I loved the versatility of the laytex options from density to thickness.LONG VERSION: As our bodies change, our comfort needs change and Vytex offers the most adaptable options I found without costing a lot of money. I am in my early senior years with degenerative disc disease, nerve injury and fibromyalgia. As my body changes, I will rely on the customer service tips on interchanging the various laytex toppers I will need for comfort. I won't be wasting money on new products no longer needed or purchasing a new mattress every few years. I only wish I had known that you can create your own mattress to fit your individual needs thru Vytex. I tried very expensive all natural laytex mattresses wrapped in wool that felt lumpy and slept "hot". I tried expensive " new polymer" mattress with individual wrapped coils on bamboo sheets and found a very rigid mattress with sheets that cling to you ( my husband said he felt like a sausage in saran wrap). Both mattresses were 15" high and it was not safe to add a topper, making a safety issue to climb in and out of bed. The reality was that an expensive mattress was no guarantee that I would find the comfort and support I needed. The true reality in my situation is that I needed something that I can change as my body changes. I change my support and comfort levels approximately every 3 months and I can do this with the Vytex line. I wound up with a firm supportive "polymer" mattress that 9" thick ( it is comfortable and sleeps cool for about 1/2 the time I spend in bed a day) and safely addeded a 2" Medium on top of a 1" soft laytex topper and found my bliss! Customer service, Greg, was right on when he suggested not using a mattress protector pad that traps heat and that using a flat sheet over the toppers will aid in breathing and sleeping cool! I also learned that the mattress, topper with 100% cotton fiber sheets (no micro fiber) reacts differently in summer as in winter. I am so glad I discovered this laytex line, in the near future I will be calling Vytex to aid me in ordering and restructuring my "new bliss" as needed !

Excellent product!!
I have purchased 4 latex toppers from Amazon, all quality products. The Vytex Brand is my most recent and important purchase. I first used latex to replace the 68% polyester in my name brand mattress. (read the label on yours sometime) After removing layers of poly foam down to the intersprings (not impressed with the springs), replaced with two 2” natural latex toppers, a medium and a firm, with a soft for a spare room mattress, great improvement but at this point I wanted more (my back is a mess) I decided to assemble a new mattress. Online I ordered a pocket coil interspring with like 1100 encased coils, and a zippered rayon mattress cover with wool padded top. (Wool is an approved fire retardant for latex mattresses). I decided to retire the very old spare room mattress and replace it with the rebuilt brand name, I needed one more topper, I had looked at the Vytex Brand on Amazon, they had become very price competitive. After researching Vytex, with patents for the removal of allergins and impurities I purchased a 2” medium to ‘top’ off my new mattress and I’m so glad. Having had latex toppers on three different mattresses, I have a bit of experience, I was living with the natural rubber smell from my other toppers, and was pulling down the bed frequently to let them ‘vap’ or vent, the odor does dissipate to a degree, but in comparison the Vytex has very little to no odor. I'm trying not to overstate the qualities of the Vytex product, but it’s difficult, what a comfortable, quality product.

Not Like "Real" Latex
I am very familiar with latex, both dunlop and talalay process. Though Vytex has a bit less odor than "real" latex, it does not have the familiar bouncy, springy feel that latex has (talalay is a bit springier than dunlop).A stack of three of these toppers should have made a nice latex bed. Instead it feels like an old worn out mattress or a thick pile of old blankets. Nothing like any latex mattress I've owned, slept on, or tried in a store. Or any new mattress of any kind! Don't know what they take out of the rubber during the Vytex process but it ruins the feel completely.I should have paid more attention to all the red flags. The super soft's description says 14 ILD, further down it's claimed to be 19 ILD (the supposed ILD of the regular soft.) Yet, when questioned about ILDs Vytex says that "ILD is only used for product that is "not natural" or blended. Natural Latex only uses density K." and "If you see ILD it's a good bet its blended or synthetic." Not true. While density is often listed, almost all manufacturers of 100% Natural Latex either tell you the ILD upfront or will do so when asked. Also, there's a big "Made in the USA" banner. Yet the toppers are stamped "Made in Vietnam by Lien A." There are many inconsistencies between their descriptions and answers to questions but I hoped this was just someone not paying attention and ordered anyway. Should've known better and gone with a reputable supplier but I wanted low odor latex that wouldn't have to air out before I could sleep on it.Lastly, they claim "easy returns." There is no option via Amazon to have the boxes picked up - drop-off at UPS only. The boxes are so large that I can't fit even one into my car, and they weight 50 lbs each! I am now exchanging emails through Amazon trying to get Vytex to send me prepaid shipping labels. I refuse to borrow a truck to take these to UPS.I have since bought latex toppers from a good supplier, Mayer's Bedding, who of course lists ILDs for both their 100% Natural and their blended (semi-synthetic) talalay latex which they buy from Talalay Global, the largest manufacturer of talalay latex in the world. These make an excellent mattress which should last a very long time.
