I'll start by telling you, I was an acrylic junkie starting back in 1990 and wore acrylic nails consistently until last fall. About 5 years ago I switched to the powder and then to gel nails shortly after that. After all those years of fake nails, without a break, plus I am a picker of nails when they feel like they're lifting. If all 10 nails lasted 2 full weeks I was lucky. I usually couldn't help myself and picked them off completely before going back to the salon. It was so embarrassing. My nail beds were in shambles, they were thinner than paper. After I stopped the fake nails, tasks like folding clothes were a pain, they snagged my clothing, were sensitive under warm water, and just a mess. I bit my nails to the quicks. I was wearing gloves to try and stop, and to hide my hideous fingers. I can't wear polish, even nail strengthener polish would be picked off within 3 days. I needed something I couldnt pick off, that would heal my super damaged nails, and I almost gave up. I was thinking about going back to the salon, and dreaded it, since I'm low on cash. Then I saw this product, read some reviews, and bought a jar. What a lifesaver this product has been for me. I didn't notice anything the 1st week, but I liked the gentle moisturizing feeling and the light scent. Man! In 3 weeks I started noticing my nail beds were healing. The rough scaley look was smoothing over. The peeling stopped. The sensitivity was gone. Now a tiny bit of white at the tips are growing out and I can feel them getting stronger. I am so thrilled! I have hope now that I can grow my nails out. No snagging anymore and no hiding my hands. Best yet, when I want to pick or bite my nails, I reach for my jar and start rubbing my nails with this awesome balm. I've only been using it 4 weeks, and wish I had before pics. I'll never go without it, it saved me a ton of money too, no salon visits ever again!!

I absolutely love the Onyx Professional Hard as Hoof Nail Strengthening Cream. This product has completely transformed my nails after removing dip manicures. Anyone who gets their nails done knows how damaging dip can be: brittle nails, cracks, ridges, and overall weakness while they grow back out. I think this is a good product. I do believe it helps make my nails stronger but it does not last long at all.

I have EXTREMELY thin nails that peel, crack, and sometimes don't even grow in. I have dry cuticles that sometimes get sore and are often ragged and peeling. I've had a lifetime of unsightly and painful nails. I researched a LOT before settling on this product. I also have MCAS and am sensitive to fragrances and chemicals, so I was nervous! First of all, the container is well-designed. It's pretty and it's easy to open if you have arthritis. It's a screw top lid that is large enough to be comfortable in the palm of your hand for opening, and there's a little plastic piece that sits atop the cream to help keep it sealed. There is no fragrance- and I mean, none. Olive oil smells stronger than this! It's thick enough to spread onto your nails and nailbeds (and recommends that you put it UNDER your nails too, which I do when my nails are long enough to do so). It soaks in pretty quickly and isn't too greasy and doesn't feel "heavy" or give me sensory overload. I usually use it before bed. I noticed a difference IMMEDIATELY. By day 3, I could tap my nails on the table and feel that they were stronger and not bending under. Their growth pattern changed and there were less ridges, growing straight out instead of curving around my fingertips, less splintering along the edges, and my cuticles stopped peeling as much. I'm extremely impressed and can honestly say that this product improved my quality of life, since thin nails are often painful. I have so much less soreness in my nail beds now!

So I usually don't go for these type of probe cause more often then not they don't work like they say. Well this one does. After i impatiently removed some press ons my nails were severely damaged. They were already thin and bendy to begin from always having acrylics and tech's drilling them down to my nail beds. Bought this product because of the reviews and figured if it didn't work I'd use it as a hand cream. The first few weeks I did apply 2-3x a day but then only applied 1 maybe 2x a day. I noticed a difference within a month. My nails were growing out and after 4 months I have strong, healthy nails. I just kept my nails short and applied this product in the AM and before bed. It smells great, keeps my hands and nail beds moisturized, and obviously yields results. First photo is my nails after the nightmare press on nails removal and second is my nails today. Definitely impressed with this product and it lasts forever since a little goes a long way. I'd recommend to anyone looking to heal weak nails.

I’ve been using this product since 11th June and whilst I don’t think I can contribute the improvement in my nails solely to this, it has most definitely helped. I’m just turning 50 and my nails have been in decline for a couple of years. At different points during this period my nails have been thin and splitting vertically, I’ve had to wear stick on nails or powdered barriers to offer strength and stop the splitting. However, once these were removed, it was just a cycle of despair because they’d split again. I’ve been taking collagen powder for the past 7 months which I think has definitely helped and got my nails in a position where I don’t have to have them covered. Hard as hoof is definitely helping with getting rid of the brittleness/ridges in my nails and offering strength. I haven’t had anything covering my nails in 3 weeks and although not mega strong, they aren’t splitting and breaking. I’ll definitely continue using this product. I was worried when I purchased that the tub was going to be tiny but you get a lot and a little goes a long way. I have to say that I apply this numerous times a day to keep my nails moisturised and there is still loads left so it’s value for money and smells lovely.
