Adequate
I previously used National Geographics Adventure Paper, but I could not find it this year so I tried this product. I use a cheap Epson ink jet printer. When I go on ocean sea kayaking trips, I tape charts and tide tables printed to this paper to the deck of the kayak where they are expose to sun and salt water for a week. It functioned satisfactorily but the text tends to blur a bit and the colors fade. The Adventure Paper was more plasticky and did not suffer from these problems. Charts printed on this other product year, are used after year. This Weatherproof paper was OK for a week but images had deteriorated enough that I did not bother to save for future use..

Good product but results vary with the printer you use.
I bought this paper to make maps for vacation trips. Specifically for an upcoming trip to Disney World. I wanted a to make a map and add dining reservations, daily itinerary, park hours, etc.The paper has a slight plastic feel. It doesn't rip or tear easily, but will stretch. You can poke a hole in it without too much difficulty. When wet, the paper feels slightly sticky, but returns to normal when it drys. The waterproofness is great, with one caveat. After printing, when I put the map under a running faucet there was some loss of the black ink, it washed off. The map I was printing had colored areas with black text on top. There was no loss of ink from the colored areas. I believe the loss of black ink is a function of how the printer applies the ink and not a fault of the paper. On my Canon MP495 printer, all of the black ink washed off and the text became gray. On my Epson 3880 printer, there was much less black ink that washed off and afterward the text was a darker gray. I tried various print settings for both paper type and print quality, and for me a standard print quality with paper type set to plain paper worked best. I also tried various ink dry times before putting the paper under water and saw no change.I had the best results writing on the paper with a standard ball point pen. Sharpies also worked well and had no ink run off when wet. Writing on this paper with either a standard or mechanical pencil did not work well.Overall, I am pleased with the paper and think it will suit my purpose well. But, I will rinse each page after printing to remove any "extra" black ink.

Survives real abuse!
I purchased this 8.5"x11" waterproof paper to try printing a procedures handbook. To be honest, I thought the claims were probably a bit of a stretch. I could expect the paper to hold up to "moisture" and I assumed that, using special ink, the print would hold up. I didn't think running it through a color laser printer would be ideal. So I took a sheet of the paper and cut it in half before printing on both sides using a color laser printer. The I set out for some tests ...I took the page outside to see how legible it was in direct sun light. Silly me - I forgot that it was drizzle and freezing rain. I carelessly dropped the page and it blew across the lawn before landing in puddle. When I leaned over to pick it up, I lost my balance and crushed the page under water and into some debris. I brought the page back inside to let it dry off.Somehow it made its way to the dirty laundry pile and was tossed in the washing machine where is tumbled and was washed with laundry detergent for 59 minutes. It stayed hidden in the pile of wet clothes and was loaded into the dryer where it was heated and rolled for another 20 minutes. The results of my ever so cavalier handling were some wrinkles (like all of my work clothes) and a few small specks of missing color. The puddle test, washing machine, and dryer are all true tests I performed. While the final page had some folds and wrinkles, the truth is the page was still completely readable and good for service. I was more than surprised.

Much better than traditional paper but not perfect, still worthwhile.
I have an HP 1500 series ink-jet printer. For the most part, it works well with this paper. Like other reviews, the red washes off easily and leaves behind only a ghostly looking pink where there was once a bright red. I've had the best experience with gray-scale black (using only the black cartridge), while it can smear a bit with heavy handling it stays quite usable. With the issues of the ink I am surprised that I haven't had issues with the ink staining my packs, but I haven't noticed any discoloration. My predominate use for this paper has been to print maps for backpacking and trail-running. I sweat a lot when I run, even when I place a traditional paper map in a zip-lock bag it never fails that it gets wet and becomes illegible (if it doesn't totally disintegrate). This paper has held up well in the hip pocket of my Nathan's hydration pack where it gets quite soaked over the hours.

... both this and the TerraSlate and they are both excellent products. Be forewarned
I bought both this and the TerraSlate and they are both excellent products. Be forewarned, the answer to the question about how thick this material is, is absolutely incorrect. It appears to be even slightly lighter/thinner than the 4 mil TerraSlate. I am using the 10 mil TerraSlate for waterproof business cards and I am using the 4 mil TerraSlate and this product for pages to go into the dive log book. Since you are usually filling out the log just after the dive (surface interval), you are usually quite wet. This stuff is completely impervious to water (I soaked it in the sink to test it) and the printing will not smear, but a caveat is that I used a laser printer, I have not tried a jet printer so I can not testify to the smear resistance of that method. Again, thin, but a good product. However, in my mind, the TerraSlate is a better product and cheaper as well if bought in the right quantities.

Survives a lot of splashing.
I use this paper for maps of the rivers and wetlands I canoe. Printing with a regular inkjet, the colors seem normal; I do have to increase contrast, but that may be a function of the data source. The maps get wet from splashing, but never shred. The color holds well unless you let water sit on it a while, then it tends to fade, but doesn't run. So this works well for me.
