This is a great book. It explains how best to communicate with your partner and why we get into arguments. Also how your partner sees a situation differently than you and why they do. How to love your wife (not sexually) and how to show your husband respect. Women, you may think you don't but you do! Also some handy advice at the back of the book, with questions to ask yourself.

Struggling to understand what's going wrong in your (hetero) relationship? Why can't he/she see what you need? How you feel? This is an eye opening book packed full of "That's exactly how it is in my life!" anecdotes complete with some very simple explanations - well, just one really! Can it be this simple? It seems so! Complete with a guide to help you both on your new path of understanding, I consider this book to be a real insight into the way forward to a happier and fulfilling life for you both. Consider it the breeze that clears away the fog! A weight will truly be lifted! The biblical references are many, the Christian ethos the foundation of this understanding but even for NON-BELIEVERS, SUCH AS I, this book is absolutely invaluable. I will never see me things quite the same again!

This book is excellent and I wish I could get it in every home. Even if you're single, the principles in the book will help in all kinds of relationships - coworkers, parents, children, siblings, friends, etc. I think that this is one of the wisest books any married or engaged couple could ever read together. Knowing how to feed our deepest needs is vital to a healthy & happy relationship. If we are inadvertently stopping on the things that mean most to us, we are going nowhere healthy fast. I love it!

I don't normally read these types of books. But it was recommended by my church deacon. I am finding the book easy to read and insightful. It has made laugh and think...and although my husband said its not for him the tit bits I share his response so far has been "that's right" every time. It has even helped me understand my husband in a way that he probably wouldn't be able articulate unless he was upset at which piont I've probably switched off.

The best marriage book ever (so far). Biblical. I bought it, read it, loved it. Learned a lot. Then my husband lent it to a friend. Never got it back. So I ordered another one because I like to read my books again. Now my husband is reading it (finally! Been begging him to read it for 2 years lol). The quality of the book itself is excellent.

The best marriage book I ever read. It teaches how to stop the crazy cycle of hurting each other because of feeling hurt. It encourages unconditional love and respect based on Ephesians 5. It contains Bible verses and stories from the author's marriage, the letters of readers and conference participants. I really enjoyed it. What used to look as my husband's personal issues, I now see as responses to my behaviour. It gave me many aha-moments and practical tools. I like the insight that if I see my spouse as essentially good-willed, it results in a better relationship between us.

This is a great book if you are a Christian or have some Christianity background. There are many referrals to the Bible so if you are going to read this book, make sure you have a Bible handy. The writing and ideas presented are very simple, easy to grasp as sometime insightful. Highly recommend for couples to read.

I got this book from my church bookstore. All I can say is OMG! I’m not even in a relationship but eager to grow in knowledge. I chose this book because I understand how lack of knowledge can affect relationships. This book is so insightful— every time I read and I find myself thinking, “How can I? How do I know…?” Boom! Dr Emerson answers them. I highly recommend this book and I pray that the Lord meets and exceed that need in your heart that made you choose this book, Amen. Thank you for adding Appendix A!
