Runs hot/issues resetting temperature
I bought this for home use and it seems pretty decent. I’ve only had paraffin-type treatment done at the salon a couple times and I figured this would save me money. It gets 4 stars for a couple reasons, due to what I was expecting from it:#1 the bath itself it’s nice, but the instructions not great (though this was in other reviews and I kinda knew it).#2 It seems that I can’t change the wax temperature once it’s set, even though I’ve unplugged it and re-tried. It runs a bit hot for my liking.#3 the size of it fits my foot okay (size 8W shoe) but it’s tight on both front and back of foot, which means if you had a size 9.5 it’d probably be way too small for you. Which brings me to....#4 because of #2 & #3 when you sit your foot in it, if you touch edges or bottom of warmer you can really scold yourself. There is a plastic rack that comes with it to put on bottom of it , but it’s not a tight fit, and moves when you put your foot in it. (Per say, that’s okay, I expected it to anyway).#5 the liners that come with it are not very good, too small for adult feet though they’re fine for hands, but they rip when you try to put your foot in them. I’m going to order a larger size.I also expected the wax to be a little thicker and not to solidify like it does, and stay softer like the ones at the salon. I ordered therabath wax brand as well, so I’ll try that one when the one that came with is gone. The positives though are: fast delivery, easy set up, no brainer. Wax smells great, and it seems to do a good job on my skin both hands and feet. I have health issues with my feet, and that’s one of the reasons I wanted to do this at home, so overall I’m happy with it: my foot & toes have screws in them and unfortunately aren’t sitting straight like other people’s so touching the bottom of the warmer is uncomfortable, wish it was a bit longer/wider. Also the amount of wax does not go to the top of the foot, but that’s what the brush is for. A positive, is that you can re-use the wax, because it brings it to a high temp. I always do a foot bath beforehand, so my feet are always clean.Overall, not a dud :) and I would recommend it, provided you consider size etc.

Not quite ready in half hour. Not quite full.
The last paraffin machine I had took hours to get melted. Then it met an early death when I just left it plugged in. I was incredulous, but ready to try again when I read this one would be ready in 30 minutes. This is kind of true.Out of box experience: Everything was packed inside the cavernous cavity of this machine. Two pounds of wax (pink and scented, Yuck), instructions, a brush, a plastic bottom rack, a bunch of bags, and two mitts to put over the plastic bags to keep the heat in. So far, so good. (My suggestion is to put your hands on your lap with a heating pad on top. That really keeps the heat in.)Plugged in, and turn on. Peeled the wax out of its plastic pouches and dropped them in. After half an hour, I found it was almost ready, so I sat down again and waited. Once I got back, the machine had the wax to a very nice temperature of 141 F. But the machine was only half full. And I found that when I dipped my hands, they only covered the bottom side. So each hand had to be dipped 10 times, to cover both sides with five layers. The rest of the operation was as expected, and I put paraffin on my shopping list. I get my scent-free refills from the canning aisle. The only other comment I have is that after I added another pound of wax to the machine, it took a good deal more than half an hour to heat up. Closer to an hour. But the paraffin bath is nice.

Heed the advice of other reviewers!
This machine is a scald hazard. I should have listened to other reviews before purchasing this unit. I figured for $60 it probably worked well enough, didn’t have all the bells and whistles of a $100 machine but also wasn’t bottom of the barrel either.Well, I can say this thing is being returned first thing tomorrow. The first time I used it I read the directions and assumed I had some kind of control over the setting and heat on this machine, well no. It basically just heats up (impressively quick) and continues to climb in temperature. Really this thing should just stop at 130 and then regulate its temperature. It doesn’t, I think mine got to 178 degrees, and even if you can stick your hand in there (I did after it cooled a little) you still risk hitting the bottom of the unit which is metal and scalding yourself on that (which I also did). I tried to use the + and - buttons to somehow control this thing and they did nothing. The + button only made a noise about every 15th time I pushed it but the numbers on the digital read did nothing. Essentially, this machine just continues to heat up as long as it is turned on and has a mind of its own. The second time I used this I had the same results and I figured that I would need to just plug it in, turn it on, then unplug it when it got to a temp I thought I could handle. After thinking about all that, and the intention of purchasing this for use on my hands and feet once a week, it is not worth all the hoops I have to jump through to get this to work for me. I would expect this type of quality out of a machine that costs $20 but this being triple in cost, it’s just not worth it. I will say that the wax that was sent is very lovely smelling, and it was nice this included plastic bags and hand mitts (which I never even opened). Just wished it worked better.

Are you ok with Automatic settings?
I’ve been using paraffin for years and was looking for a newer, more modern warmer to take to work to use on my patients. This one is definitely nicer looking, sleek, fancy, elegant. Having said that, the problem I found is the inconvenience of that automated switch. You would need to turn it on and wait for it to melt the wax every time you wanna use it.If you are ok with that, then there is no problem at all... it will be perfect for you.In my case, it doesn’t work for professional use. I kept it at home and couldn’t take it to use it on patients.I was very excited. Good thing I decided to try it first.
