Installed on my Ford Ranger project truck that came with manual locks.I used OEM wiring and switches from the junk yard to power them.They feel cheap but work just fine. Who knows for how long though.I do not like the way the wires come out of the actuator. There is no strain relief or anything to prevent the wires from getting broken over time. I replaced the ends of the wire with an automotive plug and secured the plug to the door to hopefully prevent the wire coming out of the actuator from moving around.I did not use the metal strap or rod clamps that came with these. I secured the actuators directly to the sheet metal of the door and put a Z bend at the end of the rod to hook to the stock actuator rod location.I'll say again, I'm not too confident in how long these are going to last, but they do work perfectly out of the box. I'll update this listing if they fail in a short length of time.

It included no printed installation instructions and required changing the electrical connectors to fit my 2000 town & country van rear gate lock. But it is working fine and was 1/10th the cost of the OEM part!

So, my Tacoma has had a bad driver-side door locking solenoid for a while. Probably around 8 or so years. It worked, but it gave off a horrendous buzzing/grinding sound in addition to the horn chirp when armed or disarmed (locked/unlocked via the remote trigger). I've lived with this, somewhat embarrassing noise for a long time.Lately, the solenoid doesn't even want to fully disengage or engage the doorlock... which has left me in a strange predicament. The remote triggers the door locks and turns off the alarm but the doorlock is only out halfway, so I can't open the door. Repeated attempts don't work, but still has that loud buzzing/grinding sound each time an attempt is made, which makes it all the worse.I got these as they stated they were universal and came with hardware and a pack of two. 2 solenoids and hardware for each for under $9.00 USD? It was a no brainer. I'd make it work if worse came to worse.Imagine my delight when taking one of the solenoids out of the package and checking out how it would fit on my Tacoma.... it was an exact fit replacement. I mean, the actual solenoid unit/enclosure was almost identical to the one I was replacing!It comes with hardware for each unit, but I just used my existing hardware as everything was identical. I have brand new spares now.I took out the old one and put in the new one (had to solder exactly 2 wires) and presto magico! The doorlocks work, there is no horrible buzzing sound each time its locked and unlocked and I feel like i've actually accomplished something today!Works great, great price and easy to install. Unless this thing fails in the next couple of days... i'm 100% satisfied with these units. I even have an extra one just in case!

Item stop working on 2 days

I'm actually using these as auto locks for my Shed. These are mounted with a 12v adapted power supply and using a separate remote, I can open and lock the shed with a click of a remote. These are connected to 1/2 inch rods that connect thru latches. I also put in a manual method to open it if power is lost, but you would never realize where the manual open latch is.Shipped and arrived quickly.

I bought these for a project and they work great! They are a good value for the price.
