It works, seems to run cool; drives the lights without any flickering or dimming.

The OEM power adapter died for my TiVo Roamio TCD846500. From my research I found that the factory adapter is underpowered, especially if you have an upgraded hard drive like I do. It was suggested to upgrade to at least a 3A and 5A would be even better so that's what I did. This unit has worked really well. It's not even breaking a sweat powering my TiVo. The power brick stays room temperature and the power plug fits nice and snug in the back of the TiVo. Highly recommend.

Product purchased: Hitlights 60w 12V 5A Power Transformer Something to note beforehand. I have been buying other power transformers from other sellers here on amazon, All of them were not UL listed. Until I almost had a fire from the last transformer I had bought from a "shall not be named" seller / manufacturer who's product would get very very hot during normal use etc. Well this Hitlights transformer hasn't even gotten CLOSE to hot. At most it's been slightly more than room temperature. ZERO coil whine, Which is getting harder to find these days - Trust me I've bought enough of these things. I knew from the moment I picked it up that it was better quality simply from the weight of the device alone. Significantly heavier than the other "shant be named" brand but not a nuisance. TL;DR: Good build quality, No coil whine, UL Listed (Double checked myself), Doesn't get unbearably hot. Will post back if this unit ever has any issues as well as how the seller handles it. Might have to crack this baby open just to view its internals to compare it to the other one I've still got lying around. Though it'd be a shame to ruin the shell. :)

Since Amazon groups all reviews together I'm stating that I reviewed the 60W 12V DC power adapter. The model # on the one I bought was JY60-120-500. The main benefit is that the adapter is UL listed so hopefully it wouldn't burn your house down. If the UL file number on the label can be trusted the manufacturer is DONGGUAN JIAYI ELETRIC CO LTD. The label ratings are: OUTPUT 12VDC @ 5A, INPUT 100-240VAC 1.1A. By the way, it is perfectly acceptable to power a smaller rated device with this 5 amp adapter. That is, if you have a 2 amp device it will work fine when powered with a 5 amp adapter. However the reverse is not OK (powering a 5 amp device from a 2 amp adapter!). I like to overspec adapters so they have some extra margin - you wouldn't really want to power a 5 amp device from a 5 amp adapter. The business end of the adapter is a 5.5mm (Outer diameter) x 2.1mm (Inner diameter) plug, center pin positive. THE GOOD: + Hopefully this is indeed a UL listed adapter and not a non-UL adapter with a fake label (you never know). + The power input cord is a 2-prong cord. THE BAD: - Both the input & output power cords are too short! Each one is a miserly 2 feet in length which is very short. - There is no power LED so you can visually see if the adapter is powered. OVERALL, it is overpriced especially considering the cord length and lack of power LED. If I find a better UL-listed adapter I will update this (if you find one before I do leave a comment, especially if you find one with long cords). I hope you have found this review helpful.

We purchased these to retrofit in a outdoor lit blade sign. It's incredible how well they work. We removed the old fluorescent bulb and parts; cable tied the power supply in, put the power cord through the existing strain relief and installed the LED's in literally a minute. Unbelievable how easy and great the sign works and looks. We took a 230v 50hz European sign and converted it to a usable 120v 60hz North American sign for about 60 dollars in total and aout 10 minutes of work. Brilliant!
