These clippers are GREAT and I AM THRILLED I BOUGHT THEM!!!! We have a draft cross who has Cushings and needs to be clipped for the summer show season since he doesn't shed out completely. I have owned and used the very expensive $350 OSTER clippers and these clippers did a MUCH BETTER JOB and were easier to use!!!!! I trusted the cut on these clippers so much that I even went along his mane line with them and portions of his legs, which I usually use my smaller clippers for. No lines whatsoever were left on his body and they cut through his thick coat like it was butter. He is a BIG horse, and I got him completely show-ready clipped in under 2 hours. He could've walked right into the show ring after being clipped-he looked that polished. The clippers don't get hot fast and they just overall feel solid. I really trusted them. They may seem loud to some horses, but they are no louder than other heavy-duty clippers. My only wish is the case they came in was a bit bigger as the clippers don't really fit well in it and it would be nice to be able to fit other items in it. If you are on the fence about buying these...DONT BE!!! BUY THEM! I have been clipping horses for over 30 years and these are by FAR my favorite. Happy clipping!!!

Honestly yes it gets hot but nothing crazier than any other clippers. Clipped 3 horse in one day with it. Worked pretty freaking great I would say. It is loud but is just more desensitization for your horse. I would buy again.

I used this clipper to do a full body clip on my horse who has a thicker coat due to Cushings. She was sweating heavily and I had to get the hair off. The clipper is heavy but is also powerful. * Your horses hair needs to be clean*. I tried clipping it while still dirty and it clogged the clipper right away. No problem with this after throughly washing my horses coat. The clipper is exactly what I needed and does a good job. It does heat up frequently, and gets quite hot, so require frequent blade cooling off. ** Feel your blade frequently to ensure you dont burn your horse or other animal. The clipper is quite loud but my horse got used to it quickly. For the price, the clipper is great! Did exactly what I needed it to do!

Nice clippers but very heavy and loud . Price was good but not sure if I can handle it .

They overheat badly within minutes of use. They worked for 2 passes without issues, then got very hot. I followed the instructions to adjust them and nothing worked. They still overheated to the blades would burn you just from running.

Purchased this clipper last year to cut my 5 miniature horses winter coats in the spring. Minis typically grow a heavy thick coat and do not shed out like a full size horse. Regular clippers make the work a real chore. I was thrilled with has fast and clean the Takekit Clipper groomed up my 5 minis. Also, they are lighter weight than my old Osters which makes the job much easier. I like to brush the hair off and any dirt as I go, then brush off the blades, dip them in blade wash, wip off and put a drop of oil on each side of the blade set at the teeth. They run so smooth and not as noisy as the old big clippers. Love the custom molded case that came with the clippers...keeps it safe, clean and dry in between use. Note: if you are trying to clip a horse with cushings disease, these are a good choice.

I was hesitant because of the low cost (comparably), but I'm so glad I took a chance. These clippers are awesome and clipped my horses like a hot knife goes through butter, so easy!

The clippers worked fine, but really heavy, I am going to return them. they weigh right at 10 lbs. I made 2 passes down my Rottweiler's back and I could do no more. I sent them a message to exchange for a lighter pair , but have not heard from them.
