WORKS GREAT...UNTIL IT DOESN'T. SEE REVIEW UPDATES FOR CRITICAL INFO. THE "ANSEN" DEVICE APPEARS IDENTICAL.
We purchased two of these battery-case units for new LG V20 phones bought on deep discount right after the V30 came out. Once we figured them out, they met all expectations.PRO: It will power an LG V20 for two full days of moderately heavy use or three days of light to moderate use, more than doubling the runtime between charges. If you're a power user who watches videos or plays games for hours you'll still get through a long day with juice to spare. The product is sturdy and should offer good protection for the phone unless the screen hits first. (We added glass screen protectors...recommended.)CON: The instructions really do suck and are written in near microscopic print on a tiny piece of paper. Here's what you need to know:1. This device will always charge when plugged in, whether turned on or not. They should tell you that.2. As the manufacturer recommends, be sure to do a full charge then a full discharge (down to about 5%) the first few times it's used.3. The LED indication for "75-100%" charge is not white, it's a light blue, and can be confused with the blue "25-50%" charge indication.4. THE BATTERY CASE WILL TURN ITSELF OFF REPEATEDLY WHEN NOT PROVIDING POWER (PHONE HITS 100% CHARGE), AND STAY OFF UNTIL TURNED ON. NEITHER THE INSTRUCTIONS NOR THE AMAZON WEB PAGE MENTION THAT. IT APPEARS THAT ^SOME^ OF THE 1 TO 3 STAR REVIEWS ARE THE RESULT OF MISUNDERSTANDING HOW THIS DEVICE WORKS.Item (4) means once both the case and your phone are fully charged, and no power is being drawn from the battery case, the case will turn off (phone will just be on its internal battery). The battery case will not turn itself back on. When you subsequently see the phone battery is down significantly, just push the switch on the back of the battery case a couple of seconds and the case will begin to charge the phone's internal battery. If the phone gets back up to 100% and is taking no power from the battery case, the latter will turn itself off again. After a couple of cycles like that the case will no longer charge the phone back up to 100% but of course can contribute to total runtime between charges. When the phone charge is getting fairly low and the battery case is displaying red when on, you know it's time to recharge both. This is how both of our ALCLAP battery cases work, so I assume it's normal and not some defect in them. Without this knowledge the user would naturally think the battery case had deteriorated or even failed. Fine product, very poor instructions. But that can easily be fixed.UPDATE 1: My phone was dropped on concrete steps at UNC's Dean Dome. The battery case popped open and ejected the phone but the phone case also popped open and ejected the battery, so I had five pieces clattering down the steps. Everything worked on reassembly and I could not even find any evidence of it being dropped. To prevent recurrence, I put a short piece of black vinyl electrician's tape on each end of the battery case to secure the two halves together.UPDATE 2: My bride's battery case (not the one dropped) died completely after being used less than 3 months (activated Christmas, 2017). It will not charge the phone and does not respond to its switch-LED being pressed. The OEM charger for the LG V20 is working normally and charges the phone perfectly when plugged directly into the phone. Plugging it directly into the battery case does nothing even though the connector in the case seems to be fine. NOTE: I'm deferring any adjustment in the Product Rating until I hear from Kingda Tech regarding replacement under warranty.UPDATE 3: The Amazon Return Window had closed so I contacted the seller, Kingda Tech, through the link on Amazon's page for this item. After confirming some info for them via email, they quickly agreed to have Amazon ship a replacement. No tracking info was received but the replacement battery case arrived in several days and was put into use with initial conditioning as recommended by ALCLAP. It has worked flawlessly for several weeks now and if that continues I'll leave the 5-star product rating up. Hopefully the manufacturer will improve the product documentation as discussed above.UPDATE 4: The 2nd ALCLAP battery case just died, exactly like the 1st, so that production batch apparently had a common flaw. It has a distinctive odor typical of fried electronics. I contacted Kingda Tech 5 days ago for another replacement under warranty but no response yet, which is a concern. If Kingda Tech steps up and does the right thing (again) on behalf of ALCLAP I'll consider revising my rating for this device, which works very well (until it doesn't). Based on the fact the first replacement device is doing well, I may have simply had the bad luck to originally receive 2 of these from a batch with a component problem.UPDATE 5: NO REPLY by the seller, Kingda Tech, to multiple requests for warranty action on the 2nd ALCAP device to fail. Therefore, I've reluctantly changed the rating to ZERO stars.UPDATE 6: The third ALCLAP battery case has now failed, in a scary way. It got extremely hot and emitted a strong odor characteristic of "fried" electronic circuits. This was the one received as a replacement for the first failure. NONE lasted beyond 6 months, despite the fact we used only the LG intelligent charger that came with both of our LG V20 phones, and customarily disconnected when fully charged.NOTE: THE IDENTICAL-APPEARING "ANSEN" BATTERY CASE HAS THE SAME SPECS AND APPEARS TO BE THIS "ALCLAP" DEVICE WITH A DIFFERENT NAME. THEREFORE, I'D EXPECT IT TO HAVE THE SAME DISTURBING PATTERN OF FAILURES.

and I think it protects better. The hard case I purchased in Vegas broke ...
This case does exactly what it says it does. Its too heavy to leave it on your phone if you have a phone holder on the dash of your car. So we use it more as a backup battery and take on trips rather than every day case. All of these backup battery cases have the same problem. So when compared to a case I bought in Vegas for $80 this is nicer, and I think it protects better. The hard case I purchased in Vegas broke when I dropped my phone. Love this particular case for the look and feel and the battery back up feature is excellent.

Doubles Battery Life of LG G6 But Warped After 9 months.
I have been using the battery case for about a week. I normally get about 11 hours of battery life from my LG G6. I am a moderate to heavy user. With the ALCLAP battery case i am now getting between 24-26 hours of use. It is large - (but still smaller than my wife's iPhone 7+) and thick, but still fits easily into my front jeans pocket. Overall, I am happy with this product.I have now used this charger for 9 months. For the first 8 months it worked well. Essentially doubled the battery life of my G6. About a month ago the battery case warped and now my phone does not fit into and so it is useless. Don't know if anyone else has had this problem.Fortunately with Android Oreo (8.0) my battery life increased some, so I don't need the charger as much. Still frustrating. I certainly wouldn't buy this charger again.

This product is awesome it delivers a very fast charge
This product is awesome it delivers a very fast charge ,the case is not very bulky and offers great protection for your entire phone with good looks on top of that, and what made it a 5 star item for me is contrary to the info of having to remove your phone for nfc to work is not true, i just tried it at a convenience store and it worked perfectly fine.what made me think it would work is because i tapped the phone to the back of my tablet to see if it would recognize a request for data sharing and it did so i assumed it would work at a register and it did so if that was a deal breaker for not making the purchase don't let it be you will not be disappointed...

Good charger, but bulky.
Decent case. It makes your phone pretty bulky. You need to buy a separate case. Decent charger, but becomes weak after 5-6 months time. Also the volume button broke at 6 months.

The product works fine, holds a decent charge for a solids day work. I was unaware it didn't come with a screen protector; why I chose this product vs. Another. Not designed for drops either (it all just pops out.) Other then those issues it does its job. So 4 stars!

The first one stopped working after a month. It was replaced, which we appreciate, but the next one only last about a month also.
