in the paths of righteousness
Hoping to give Cindy and her friends a much needed vacation Kyle, Cindy's brother, invites them to go on a cattle drive with him. What he neglects to tell them is that this cattle drive will be filmed as part of one of Kyle's adventure episodes. The drive seems to be doomed from the beginning with the death of one of the crew, but Kyle insists the show must go on and so everyone saddles up no matter how reluctant they are.Jeremiah is determined that the footage from the filming never gets put on TV. He has secrets to keep. Neither Cindy or Jeremiah can define their relationship yet, but those around them seem to assume that they are in love. Jeremiah knows that in order to protect his secrets that eventually he must leave, but his attraction to Cindy and desire to keep her safe keeps him from doing that.Miles away from any town or law enforcement Cindy, Jeremiah, Mark and Traci realize that there is a killer among them and that Kyle is the person's target. Will they be able to figure out who it is before anyone else is killed?Loved the setting of this one! I really enjoyed the "gang" being all together to solve this case as well. I also liked that we got to see Cindy and Kyle together. After so many books with hints of the jealousy that Cindy has for Kyle, and her parents obvious favoritism for him, it was fun to read about what makes him tick. We are still in the dark as to Jeremiah's past and also what happened to Cindy and Kyle's sister many years before, but with each installment we learn just a little more of both. I really like the dynamics between the 4 friends. Cindy and Traci get along well together even though Traci keeps pushing Cindy to talk about her relationship with Jeremiah. Jeremiah and Mark have a healthy respect for each other. Mark knows that Jeremiah has secrets from his past and he is okay with letting those secrets lay. Mark's search into his former partner Paul's past has hit a roadblock, but at the end of the book a new clue surfaces and he enlists Jeremiah and Cindy in helping him to hunt it down. I'm definitely looking forward to reading the next book in the series to see what happens there! Mystery and series fans I have not been disappointed in any of the Psalm 23 Mysteries, so if you are looking for something exciting to read check these out!!

Cowboys And Sleuths Find Murder!
The next book (#6) in this excellent series, finds amateur sleuths, Cindy and Jeremiah joining Cindy's brother, Kyle on the premiere filming of Kyle's new adventure (television,) show. Joining the couple are friends, Mark, a homicide detective, and his wife, Traci. The foursome are excited about having a paid vacation (gift from Kyle) however, not so thrilled to learn they are going on a cattle round-up. Jeremiah is even less thrilled to find that this adventure is going to be filmed. You need to read the series from book one onward to figure out why. I'm not going to spoil it for you.The adventure is marred when one of the cowboys is found dead. Was it a heart attack or??? Cindy and Jeremiah, as well as Traci fear a murderer may be amongst the group. Soon there is even more evidence to support their suspicions.I know a lot of reviewers give an outline of the story plots, however, I'm of the opinion that this book is so well written, the action so sharp, and the dialog leads the reader along, that to give hints as to where this story goes would only take away from the reader's enjoyment. This is an excellent series. There are plenty of surprises, however, there is also a gentle romance between the Rabbi and protestant secretary that keeps a continuous thread beneath the main tale. This factors keep me returning volume by volume and I hope this series continues on for many years to come.A very clever murder mystery series and is not overly preachy, but reminds us of being human and needing a guiding hand once in awhile. Enjoy this adventure. Good reading!

Continuing a great series!!
I love this mystery series about Christian church secretary, Cindy, Jewish Rabbi, Jeremiah, and their policeman friend, Mark. In this book Cindy's most un favorite brother, Kyle, has invited Cindy, Jeremiah, Mark, and Mark's wife, Traci on one of his TV adventure shoots. They are going to be part of a team of cowboys on a cattle round-up. But it seems that someone wants Kyle dead, as people start dropping along the trail. It's more about who likes Kyle, then who might want to kill him.Everyone has secrets and trauma in their pasts. We've been learning a little more about Jeremiah's past with each book. He's definitely more than just a rabbi, with clues about his time in the Israeli army. Mark just recently found out that his long time police partner was not who he claimed to be---but now he's dead too. Cindy's sister drowned in childhood---helping to cause a rift in her family. Of course, by now, they've also survived numerous murder investigations together.Great characters--well done mystery---just the right amount of God's Word. Excellent series!!

Only Debbie Viguié!!!
Only Debbie Viguié could write a Christian romantic suspense mystery novel like this! So many enthralling story lines being interwoven back and forth through Debbie's skillful loom. We watch the scene open as Jeremiah, Cindy, Detective Mark and his wife Traci accompany Cindy's daredevil television show host brother, Kyle, on an old West week-long cattle drive. While the main questions may be: 1)Will Jeremiah's past be explained? 2) Will Jeremiah and Cindy admit they love each other? 3) Will they even survive this cattle drive and find the killer?I had to slow down as I read, in order not to miss any of Debbie's "nuggets." A big fan of the Lone Ranger, Debbie nods her head to that hero multiple times throughout the book. In two or three spots, Debbie repeats phrasing from earlier books, changing the wording or character slightly. Obviously memorable phrases. I was greatly reminded of Agatha Christie's Ten Little Indians, just another fact that showed me how much fun Debbie had writing the book. Not to mention one final "Viguié twist." Put this one on your must read list!!
