It really works like a charm!
Not the prettiest, but it does the job and is very easy to clean. It catches all the hair, allows the water to drain right through it, and is very easy to remove and put back in. The fit is great. It does stand up a little (not flush), but as long as it does the job, I'm happy!

Works great but you do have to remember to clean it.
My husband originally bought me just the one for the tub. I have very long hair and I was getting tired of having to pull clumps out of the drain. This wasn't the first product he bought me. The first one was one of those that sits on top. It would get covered in hair and stop draining, or I'd end up kicking it. I didn't like it. He found this one and I love it. It's flexibility aloud for quick and easy cleaning to pull off the hair. Sometimes it will get full and make the tub drain more slowly, but it still drains. My husband tried a metal one and refused to use it because it was harder to clean. We have these in both bathtubs. The more hair you have the more it's going to catch causing a slower draining. That just means it's doing it's job. Also if you happen to drop clumps of shampoo, conditioner or body wash it's going to catch those clumps as well. This makes it even more important to clean it off after each shower. Otherwise things will start to grow. Now for the sink one it works just as well. One depending on the amount of soap lathering or other products being rinsed down your sink. And two the type of water you have will determine how often you need to clean it. Hard water will cause a build up that doesn't seem to happen as easy on the tub one. I'm guessing because the sink one is more narrow and the holes smaller. Keep an old toothbrush around then use whatever works best to break down soap scum, and hard water stains. I soak mine before going over it with the brush. If you don't clean it regularly or when you notice it's not draining well you'll end up with a build up in your drain that will require either Drain-O or a baking powder/vinegar treatment.Overall it does exactly what it claim's. Catches hair and other things before it gets down and clogs up your drain. But just like many other things it itself needs to be maintained will normal maintenance. Just add cleaning it to your regular cleaning in those areas and you'll have minimal problems.

I love these!
These things are the greatest! I use them in my bathroom and in the bathrooms of my rental properties. I think they have really saved on my plumbing bills!

These plugs are temporary as they don't last long.
They work alright but get funky quick and you need to clean them well. Good for maybe a year at the most. I will go with the metal basket type easier to clean and use a plug for a bath.

Better than regular (non-chrome version) shrooms
While all these Shroom products work, the chrome versions really are much better than the regular all plastic ones. The metal at the top makes insertion into the drain a much easier process; you have a fixed surface that won't change its shape as you push the Shroom into the drain. The plastic on the vertical part of the item is also stiffer than the non-chrome version. As a result, Shroom usually sits straight up in the drain the first time, as opposed to all different angles on the non-chrome versions. The metal piece is only a thin cover over the regular plastic underneath, but it greatly helps. Of course, the chrome cover also looks much classier than white plastic. No longer do I need to use drain cleaners on my bathroom sink to clean out hair, toothpaste and other gunk. The Shroom catches it all and wipes clean with a paper towel.

TubShroom and SinkShroom have been Protecting my drains for years
I have long, fine hair that clogs a drain in no time. After trying many other options that only sort-of worked at best, or didn't work at all, at worst, I found TubShroom some years ago, and have never looked back. I buy extras to have on hand so I will never be without them. They do, eventually need replacing, especially if you have hard water, but can be cleaned easily to extend their life. They are beyond worth the modest price to keep hair, airborne pet fur, and other things from slipping down sink and tub drains, creating clogs and incurring plumbing bills. Thank goodness for TubShroom!! (P.S. The newer models have adapters to adjust to various opening sizes, although the originals are flexible and fit my different drains just fine.)

Will not fit all standard sized sink and tub drains
These (there are two to a package) did not fit bathroom sink at all and though they almost fit tub, either slipped down entirely so tub was plugged up and filled with water when I was trying to shower or I could pull Shroom up and it rested mostly out of drain hole at a tilted angle, too much out of opening to catch anything. Unfortunately, by the time I tried Shroom, the return window closed. For me, no solution and I am out 20 dollars.
