Relaxed fit for easy movement, very comfortable! Love the cell phone pocket!
I bought these because I like Carhartt products, and I was interested in the cell phone pocket for summer carry. I have a Galaxy Note II which is huge, and although it still fits in the cell phone pocket, it sticks out the top just a bit. It still stays in the pocket till needed, but with 99% of the other phones, iphones and android devices, they should fit very well. Just over sized ones like the Note, Mega and the like will be a tad too big. These pants have a different weave which is extremely comfortable, but does not have the permanent crease like the B290's I'm used to buying. They will wrinkle if not taken out of the dryer right away. I absolutely love the pockets. Everything is just the right depth. And easy to get into. No struggle to get you hand in your front pockets with these pants. I like the fact that they have a button or raised "rivet stud" to fasten the front of the pants together and not a cheap snap. I have Dickies that have the metal tab and slide and that tends to undo itself at times where this button will stay put no matter what the activity. These are well made and should last a long while and give great service. I will be changing out my phone here in the spring, so my new Galaxy S5 should work perfectly with these pants. I'm going to place an order for more!

A+ Best brand + comfortable, durable casual and work pants with one side pocket made for smart phone comfort and ergonomics
( the wearer of the pants)My favorite casual pants. Wear this model for work most of the time. The cell phone pocket is a must for me now esp.having a smart phone . Allows for quick access and comfortable. esp. going out to a environment where back pockets might be needed for tools. The cell phone pocket fits my Nexus 5 with Spigen Neo Hybrid case just fine . However any phone larger may have issues.I did try a friends oneplusone phone without a case and it seems to fit fairly well , with just the top, approx 1/8 , or a bit more sticking out of the top of cell pocket. They have a relaxed fit without having a too loose a fit .Ability to wear them in all casual situations as the side pocket is not noticeable for most.

So far, so good
I ordered these pants because I wanted a durable pair of brown(ish) pants for work in a retail warehouse environment.I wanted something that would have a sort of business casual look but be able to stand up to daily wear and tear.I really like the mushroom color. Not too dark and not too light. The first thing I noticed when trying them on is that they are rather high waisted on me. I like this because it reminds me to actually wear them on my waist instead of below my gut. They also run just a little long. I am about 6'3" and I had to roll over the bottom of the leg. But this worked okay for me and still looks just fine. The right leg pocket is perfect for the mobile phones we use at my workplace and that has been a very convenient feature.I hope these hold up well over the next month or two. If so, I will be ordering several more.Update: One month later. Ended up poking a hole in the leg of the pants. Suppose it could have happened to any pants, but I sort of hoped these pants would be bulletproof. Especially because they are quite pricey for a frugal guy like me.Still like the pants and will probably still order more.

Sturdy cotton pant
Carhartt cotton canvas khaki pants are great for durability and wear resistance. If your workplace requires 100% cotton pants for safety (minor arc-flash or ignition hazard,) these can provide much better service than standard cotton chinos. Most twill chinos have a short service life for field engineers as they easily tear when encountering service which an inspecting engineer might face. High-stress seams are triple stitched, pockets are made from heavy liner, and the fabric itself is of a high grade. In a year with five pairs, my only failure is a tool puncturing my pocket, and those pants are retired to be worn-out work pants. My only concerns with the pants are the inclusion of a cell-phone pocket and exterior rear pockets. Carhartt makes a cleaner four-pocket pant with interior rear pockets; but they are made from polyester, which can ignite, melt, and continue to burn, and kill the wearer in case of an accident.

TOO SMALL
I ordered 7 pairs of pants over two days. They all arrived on time and in good boxes. All size 34x30 on the tags. Two pair of pants were so tight that I could not button them, but the remaining pants all fit differently. Some loose and some snug. They all had strings sticking out of the seams.Carhartt is a name brand and charges a name brand price, I expect more. I will look at Duluth Trading Company next time for work pants.Amazon provided a fast no problem return. I would not reorder this brand.

Good for summer rooftop work
OK, this is an update on the review. Originally, I thought these would be better than the Carhartt Ripstop pant. Now, I fully believe the Ripstop is head and shoulders above this product. The canvas pants actually soak up the sweat and then don't breathe as well. They stick to your legs and don't stretch or slide. VERY restrictive when soaked with sweat. I do solar installs in Hawaii. These Carhartt's(even though NOT Made in USA) are great for hot shingles in the blazing sun. Keeps you from getting sunburned. Very breathable. Light colored, so reflects sunlight well for a cool feel even in blazing sun. Also got a pair of the Ripstop pant. Ripstop better. Just bought another pair of Ripstop pants and a pair of Ripstop shorts. Would not buy another pair of these canvas pants. Right pocket all ripped up already from tape measure. These pants also stain way too easy and are already looking 5 years old after just one year.

thinner fabric
I've been wearing these pants for 5 years now and the latest ones i got seemed to be made of a thinner material. I also received 2 different pairs that although they say the same size, they are not. 1 pair is snugger at the waist than the other one. Not enough to warrant a return but this is not the first time i've gotten mislabeled pants from Carhartt.
