Robocut Automatic Vacuum Hair Cutting System Haircutter Clipper

This is a robocut in name only. This cutting device is in no way similar to the original. I successfully got 2 haircuts out of this one... it would have been far more comfortable to cut my hair with a weedeater. The original had two cross shaped blades which were self sharpening when run in reverse mode. My old one averaged 3 cents per hair cut. This one has averaged $40 per cut, I'm not man enough to rip my hair out with this device again. I'll stick to the comfort of cutting my hair with my weedeater as it is far more gentle.

I had the older version (with different blades and switch on the motor, not the cord, just to identify the model) and loved it. Used it for about 20 years until I dropped it and it broke. Tried to repair without success because this product, the older model, was wonderful. I reordered this brand because I was hoping to get the same. They changed this to extremely cheap blades, which don't cut. My hair, although not long, only gets tangled into them. What a tremendous difference. Nothing like the old model, very dissapointing. ***Zero stars***

The original head with the stainless blades have been replaced by some cheap mesh blade configuration. I used it once it pulled my hair out I tossed it in the trash where it belongs. Also the Hose has also been cheapened up and cracked in two places just setting it up. Sad because I have 3 of the original blades . I am now searching for the Original Robo cut that I had for 16 years.

There are two versions of this product. The one shown in the photos is the older higher quality product that I used for 20 years before it finally broke. The one I received from this seller is the newer version that lasts a year if you're lucky. The difference is the cutting blade. The photos show the old high-quality version, but the product I received is the newer version with a flimsy wire spiral that pushes hair against a ring of flimsy cutting teeth, not the old version that scissored hair between strong metal pieces.

This is not the old model shown in the picture. It is a new model and doesn't have a real blade. It has a flimsy spiral that is supposed to push the hair to the edge where there is cutting teeth. Absolutely doesn't work. If you have had the older model with the real cutting blade and loved it like I did you will be vastly disappointed in this.

This is my second one of these. The first one worked pretty well for a while, but then it didn’t. But I liked the way it worked well enough that I ordered another. Second one got stuck or something after one minute or so of use. Design needs improvement. I haven’t tried to return it yet, but I expect to, soon. So, assuming that there is no problem with the return, and I am sure that that will be the case, the effect is that of lending money at zero interest.

The ‘pull’ on the hair is stronger and more consistent (somewhat painful). It means it when it says do not cut more than 1/2 inch at a time. Longer hair got wound in the machine, no reverse button, had to cut the machine out of the hair. None of this ever happened with the older model. Had it for 20 years.
