Ultra-Grrrip Wheelchair Push Rim Covers Black

I haven't even had my first wheelchair for 6 months, so I'm still very much in the learning phase. I got these grip covers in black, so they really don't change the aesthetics of my chair at all (much as I love purple, I also love not having to clean colored things that are very prone to getting dirty). They installed easily, and fit well. I have 24" wheels.The biggest difference with these covers on is the greatly decreased temperature extremes! I went through most of the winter with my hands freezing any time my chair was exposed to the cold, and it seemed to take ages for the rims to warm up. These covers virtually eliminate that problem, and I don't have to keep swapping out different types of gloves to deal with it.In general, the covers also add a bit of extra friction and padding to the rims. It's definitely something to be aware of, especially when needing to slow down or stop quickly, but I ultimately count it as a plus. There's a little bit of added bulk as well, but that has also turned out to be a good thing (at least for me), since now I just kind of bounce off anything I accidentally bang my rims into, as opposed to doing damage without any shock absorbing.Really, the only thing I think could be better is the color selection, and that's mostly me being picky. I'd be more inclined to put up with cleaning a colored pair if they matched my frame better, but I'm finding out that not many wheelchair accessories do anyway. I've had these for about a month, and I'm very happy with them overall.

Mine came from outside of the US and took two months to arrive. They fit on my chair great and really do the job I wanted them to do but they smell! There is a very strong odor to them that everyone can smell. I am hoping that after a few days they won’t smell

I have pretty slick rims. This helps tons. My pushes mean more. My hands slip less. Even in rain or snow I can pull down my sleeves or have gloves. So happy I purchased this. It’s a life saver. It’s also great for travel protection of wheels.

And I have ALS so my hands are a shirt show. The people saying this is difficult to install makes me smh.

Totally disaponted. We live in Florida with high temperatures and and frequent rain. The instalation was easy, but the problem started outside. The Ultra-Grip become extremely hot in matter of couple minutes. My daughters palms and fingers were burn after her first ride. Also in rain there was no difference. The Ultra-Grip were not preventing the wheal from slipping in the hands.Very disappointed.I hope we can get refund.

These grips are awesome! My hands don't slip anymore. Nice and thick able to push around much easier!
