Waterproof? Yes it is.
We have had many blankets over the years but this is by far the best design and feels strong, and is also soft and cozy on the inside, I have always wanted a safe place for the keys and phone, this blanket has a zipped pocket that is great! We thought we would test how waterproof it is ourselves.I got the hose out with one of my kids hiding under the blanket and sprayed the hose on full all over the blanket for 5 minutes. He came out completely dry, that's waterproof enough for our needs.100% Happy

Totally Satisfied. Glad I bought the high quality version.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. ย Got this Picnic Blanket yesterday and I have been trying it out for Memorial day weekend. It's a Stadium Blanket so super Luxury and soft and plush. It's hot right now in Texas but this thing is a total winner for football season. Looks like totally premium stitching. Handy little zipper pocket for keys/phone/etc. I have had several blankets over the years and none of them have felt like this straight out of the bag. See my video of unboxing but I am a happy camper.

This one stays, the other one goes! Perfect for cold baseball games and keeping rolled up in the car.
For the price, this is the one. I bought this for sitting out in the wind and light rain at baseball tournaments. Spring and Fall always have a month where the games can get miserable for spectators and require blankets. This folds up nicely in a small bag, but does the trick. It is not the expensive $150 Mambe blanket which I will ask for for Christmas :) but for under $30, it will work! This blanket is quilted so it doesn't slide around, and though it came out of the bag seeming a little stiff, after a few washes and drys, it is flexible. The fleece underneat is soft, not microfiber plush, but soft and warm. "Down Under Outdoors Premium Large Waterproof, Windproof, Quilted Fleece Stadium Blanket, Machine Washable, Camping, Picnic & Outdoor..." It was true to size at 82 x 55 inches My son and I went outside with two Amazon similar blankets (this and the "XL Plush Fleece Outdoor Stadium Rainproof and Windproof Picnic Blanket - Camp Blanket (Blue)" in a very light rain with the wind blowing a bit and the wind came right through the XL Plush fleece blanket, the water did dampen but not soak the outer shell, but it was not raining hard. I don't see how that would keep anyone warm and dry or be used as picnic blanket if the grass was damp. We chose to keep the Down Under blanket, which felt much warmer in the wind and after several washes became very soft and was definitely more substantial and windproof and stable (not sliding bc it's qulited) than this XL Plush. After a few games I will decide whether to buy a second Down Under. I wish it came in more colors and I wish it had just a thinlayer of padding/insulation between the layer of plush and the waterproof layer, just to make it a little more cozy. But for the price this is great and suits our purposes fine.

If you go to cold sporting events you want this
This blanket is a HUGE help in those cold/wet/windy sporting situations.I also purchased a Oceas waterproof blanket to see which of the two is better. The Down Under brand wins for softness and quiet (does not crinkle at all so no sound issues) but Oceas wins for wind blocking. The Down Under brand has quilting and I think it lets a tiny bit more wind through compared to the Oceas. I would still recommend the Down Under blanket as an excellent solution to preventing wind and rain and providing warmth while you are at sporting events. My husband has adopted this one because he doesn't like the slight kinkling noise the Oceas one makes.

good picnic blanket, nothing more and definitely not waterproof
My original review is below to which the seller commented right away insinuating that I didn't actually buy the blanket and that I was probably an idiot and I don't know what waterproof means. So I tested again. Altogether I've probably tested this more times than I'll use the blanket but if it's important that you get a blanket that is waterproof, skip my review and read the comments. This blanket I received is no where near 'waterproof'. As said in the comments, if you buy this, judge for yourself. I wouldn't wait a long time though because if their 'lifetime guarantee' is anything like their opinion of their blanket it's probably worthless. I should change my review to one star but it's pretty much what I expected and bought: a large picnic blanket--------------------------The first thing I did was wash this and while taking it out I found a couple of bugs at the bottom of the washer. I won't say they came with the blanket but I won't say they didn't either. Good thing I washed it first. Actually washed twice because some of the soap didn't come out the first time which I suspect is because of the way they treated the fabric. The seller claims you can wash this but only mentions that it should be cold water on gentle. Nothing about detergents. My guess is that you don't want to use bleach of course or anything acidic; just a mild detergent. If it can't handle that, then what good is it. This type of washing won't get rid of most bacteria or viruses. If you have small children, I would suggest adding an antibacterial soap when you wash it and/or using a blanket over this. I don't believe it's healthy to raise children in an antiseptic environment but when a kid is sick it does no good to keep exposing them to the same cold source, or spreading it to yourself or other children. Just commonsense.I live in the desert southwest so I don't care that much about the waterproofing. I bought it to go along with a portable cabana we got last year. It's really handy to have one of these cabanas in the desert but ours has no floor to it so I needed something to lay over the ground. But, I have to laugh at some of the sellers comments. The fabric is treated with a chemical to make it waterproof. In my experience, all products that are created that way do not last forever. Washing it 10 times and then running water over it doesn't tell you anything. The only good test is time and conditions. Anyway, for kicks, I did my own test. I made a pocket of one corner of the blanket in the sink, poured some water in the depression and waited. Same test the seller describes in the Q&A except my blanket was only washed twice. Two hours later the blanket was soaked thru while they claim after 12 hours nothing leaked thru. The blanket I got is not waterproof at all. If you're in a cold rainstorm this will not keep you warm nor guarantee you won't get wet; it will keep some of the rain off but not for long. As for wind, it will make a better kite than protect you from the wind, particularly since there's no snaps, straps or anything to keep it from flying away except you're own two hands. As I expected, this is more of a picnic blanket than something to keep you warm at night in the outdoors. Also as I expected the outer cover is not rip/stop fabric. When I was shopping I decided on this blanket instead of the another product that was made from rip/stop fabric and now I'm not sure that was the right choice. Time will tell. The difference is that with ordinary fabric you can get a tear and it can rip a large area but with rip/stop, the tear is supposed to be limited considerably because there is criss cross stitching in the fabric. I'm not referring to the stitching that holds the pieces together but the fabric itself. I didn't choose rip/stop this time because this blanket is a bit bigger and the seller promises lifetime replacement. I'm not going to ask for a replacement if the blanket rips, whatever the cause, but if the stitching or fabric comes apart in the climate where I live, I'll certainly be complaining to get a replacement or my money returned and hopefully the seller will honor their word. This didn't come with a material sheet so it's unclear what chemicals they used to treat the fabric. Any kind of fabric that has been promised to prevent stains or promises to be water resistance/proof is typically treated with toxic chemicals. This applies to everything from blankets to furniture to clothes and so on. Yeah, yeah, I know, we're all exposed to toxic chemicals all the time and I don't want to get in a debate over the health hazards. I just think that people should be aware of what they are getting and manufacturers have an obligation to tell you this. Just because you're not ingesting their products doesn't mean that the chemicals don't get into your body, or into your kids.

We absolutely loved this product
We absolutely loved this product! It was perfect for our little family picnic. Even though the grass was damp, the blanket kept us 100% dry. Yay! (I hate it when my jeans get wet.) The quilted fleece was so soft and comfortable for our little baby who loved crawling around. I also love grey - so that was a win! It now lives in the trunk of our car ready for any impromptu family picnics. The little waterproof zip pouch was a happy find to keep my cell in, as my little baby loves to eat it (ekk). Very happy customer. Thank you.

Great quality
Fantastic blanket, very well made and cozy. I love that it provides a barrier but is able to be washed and will last forever, instead of having a plastic backing like the picnic type ones have. Have not tried it on the ground to see if moisture comes through or as a blanket outside yet.

Must-have product
I recommend that picnic blanket 100%! I waited for a couple of weeks to be able to get that green and blue pattern, thanks to the sellers who were super nice to let me know it would be for sale soon in Australia, and who sent me an email to let me know when it became available on Amazon. I received it very quickly. The quality is fantastic. It is very convenient and very easy to fold back. And most importantly, it is machine-washable, because who wants a picnic blanket you canโt wash? Happy customer ๐

pretty good.
Product arrived on time, feels looks great, just a little short on the legs if you try to cover 2 people standing up. The rustling noise is a little annoying when moving it around. But looks stronger than other picnic blanket we have purchased in the past. Happy with purchase.

Very big blanket
Exactly what it looks like in the photo and does a lovely job! So glad I bought it even though it's a little pricey definitely worth it. Have machine washed after each use which I love! It's big enough to lie down on and my partner is about 6'1" - 6'2". If you're thinking of getting a picnic blanket definitely get this one. I'm a happy customer

A wonderful, versatile blanket
Iโm very pleased with my new picnic blanket - good quality, love the zippered pouch & a lot easier to roll up & store than my previous blankets that folded awkwardly into a square! Rolling up & using the permanently attached strap is much easier ๐๐! It is also a lot lighter, wind proof & water proof - very versatile.
