Reclaimed Barnwood Beam Fireplace Mantel (Wood, 4"x6"x72")

I am going to start w the good points. Generally the beam is gorgeous - sturdy, rustic and the color is perfect. It is solid, not hollowed out. However, the ends are not stained.... I’ll have to deal w that on my own.This was a replacement because somehow the first one got lost in the mail. How the heck does something this big get lost? So my project has been delayed. I’ll post a photo when finished. There is not an ideal way to communicate w the seller other than thru Amazon email, hence more delays.Also I still smell the fresh stain which is giving me a serious headacheSo... buyer beware - you will have to settle for the good w the bad on this one!

The wood is fine, the finish is fine... but thickness measurements are completely off. I understand it's reclaimed wood, but the seller should not market "6 x 6" if there is variation beyond a 1/4 of an inch. Provide ranges -- right at the top----. I purchased custom iron mantel supports at the same time I ordered the mantel at a costs of $190. They were sized to my fireplace setup and assumed the wood be 6x6 (as advertised... but the wood thickness is actually 5.5 x 5.5, and the 'custom' supports are non-refundable. Very frustrating since the supports could have been literally any size.

We LOVE our new mantle! It is exactly what we wanted since we're remodeling our living room with a rustic feel. It was shipped and packaged very well and we got it in about 10 days. I messaged the owner before buying it and he replied the same day and answered all of my questions. Highly Recommend!!!

This piece is just as described. It's certainly been there and done that. The piece we got had nail holes and pieces of old square nails embedded in it. It was well finished and looks great. I had to give the mounting system category three stars simply because it does not come with anything to mount it. That makes sense as the seller has no clue what the purchaser plans to do with it or where it might be mounted. I Googled a few videos about how to mount a mantlepiece, and I was off to the races. About an hour later, I had a new mantle that was well worth the cash. Buy with confidence, and Google for the rest. ;)

We ordered a beam for a fireplace mantel. It took a wild road trip due to a strange fedex shipping issue. When it arrived, it was perfect. It looks great over our fireplace.

This Barnwood mantel exceeds my expectations. It looks like it came from an old barn where they used pegs to keep the beams together. It is exactly what we were looking for in a mantel. It is pretty heavy, so mounting it may be an issue, but should be able to figure it out.

This wood beam took a little bit to get to me but was exactly what I thought I wanted. It matched the description exactly and was beautiful but once I held it up to where it was going to be mounted I just didn’t like how big it was. I returned it and was refunded my money. The company I purchased this from had wonderful customer service and that’s saying a lot these days!

Was exactly what we were looking for. The color, size, authenticity (heavy but it is solid wood) and look (old wood/rustic barn) is a good contrast and looks great on our tall stacked stone fireplace wall. We didn't recess it into the stone so it was a challenge to put finishing touches around the gap between the mantel and the stone (used plastic wood filler on top and cut and fitted small pieces of leftover stone on the sides) but now it looks like the mantel was custom installed and right at home on the wall. By not recessing it we got the full 8" x 8" mantel protruding out from the wall. I would recommend this mantel to anyone.
