Cool nostalgia
Purchased as a present for a 50 something cartoon lover. We still do our own Saturday morning cartoon fests with the old faves, so this was perfect. Package it with a favorite cereal... as part of a complete breakfast, of course.

Perfect Gift!
I bought this as a gift for my Dad. Dad was born in 1960 and myself and my brother in the early 90s. It has all the cartoons my Dad watched as a kid and later showed to us, as well as all the "new" 80s/90s cartoons we watched together. This is a really great gift and also makes an awesome coffee table book.

Who oesn't love cartoons?
This book is a lot of fun. If you grew up watching cartoons like I did, you'll appreciate it. Starting from the 1960s to the 1990s, this highlights some of the best-remembered animated programs -- the Jetsons, Scooby-Doo, Josie and the Pussycats, the Flintstones,s and Bugs Bunny are just a few. Great illustrations bring back memories.

Great Concept, Poor Design
This was a great idea for a book but the realization was less inspired. Firstly, not sure how they selected the featured cartoons, but this is far from a comprehensive or expansive review. The book only focuses on a few from each era. For example, there are eleven total included from the 1980’s (Garfield gets 4 pages?!); more cartoon variety aired in a single season. And it doesn’t seem like particularly incisive commentary. More like someone’s general superficial thoughts about a show, blended with a few trivial facts. Second, maybe it was a licensing issue, but the artwork leaves a lot to be desired. Many of these images are low quality, often blurry, and some so similar there was no need to include them. At first, I thought they were screengrabs. Did they hire someone to draw these? Many don’t look like something the studio created. Third, this is not a polished design or edit. There is a ton of white / wasted space. There are giant, low-resolution and seemingly random photos on every page. It looks like something you could put together with MS Word using stock graphics. This was not a bargain book; for that price, you’d hope to see some great artwork, behind-the-scenes lesser-known facts, and some insightful observations and analysis. Fingers crossed someone makes another attempt at this.

Great gift!!!!!!!
I was looking for a great gift to get my sister. Watching Saturday morning cartoons together as kids was a huge part of our childhood. I love the nostalgia it evokes and the fun facts behind our favorite shows! Great conversation starter for the home coffee table and makes the perfect gift!!! So happy!!!! I may just have to order another one for myself.

Will take you back
The only thing I wish was that this book was a little longer and included some more old cartoon gems.

The Jetsons, Underdog, The Smurfs, He-Man, Disneys Gummi Bears und Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

I bought this book hoping that the chapter featuring the 1960s and the 1970s would be superb. I was born in the 1960's and wanted to know about my favourite cartoons. The 1960s hosted a plethora of great cartoons, but only the adventure cartoons Space Ghost and Jonny Quest are mentioned in this book. What happened to the coverage of Shazzan, The Impossibles, The Herculoids and Birdman and the Galaxy Trio, Spiderman, Fantastic Four to name a few. YEs The Flintstones and Jetsons are covered, but in far too much detail and at the detriment of some show not being mentioned at all such as The Archies, Top Cat, Underdog, Wacky Races, Batfink and Karate, The Milton the Monster show, Magilla Gorilla and Marine Boy. The 1970s, 1980s and 1990s were adequately covered.
