Excellent in every way!
I just received these after ordering them a couple days ago. More than electronic flares, the three lights are excellent in every way. There are multiple flasher pattern settings, including the SOS sequence, for just about every situation. The lights are blindingly bright - both the orange flasher LEDs and the white flashlight LEDs, so be careful not to be looking directly at them - especially if you are in a dark setting when you deploy them.Normally, I like to wait and use a product for a while, to determine durability, before a review - but that seems unnecessary for these. The thick transparent plastic casing is wrapped in a durable wide-slotted housing that feels like a somewhat flexible silicone - obviously for shock protection and giving each light the impression of having tactical durability. There are gaskets in the battery cover and fittings and I couldn't resist the temptation to test for seal quality and floatation performance - both of which were excellent! The disk floats flat on the water, with lights brightly visible on all sides. There is one sealed push button at the top that must be pushed in sequence to get to the desired function. This takes a little time, because of all the options, but it does help ensure a more reliable leak-free performance. Initially, it requires a fair amount of pressure to activate the switch, because you are pushing against the sealed housing to press the underlying switch. I see no problem with this and all three lights worked equally well through all light switch settings.Every possible application seems to have been considered. The small magnet on the bottom of each light is plenty strong enough to hold it vertically on a steel surface. There is a hook, slotted for storage in a groove around the magnet. Finally, one of the silicon (?) housing arms has a widened flexible tube, allowing for a secure carabiner connection or mounting horizontally on a narrow pole. (I discovered this fits nicely atop one of those fiberglass reflector poles - the kind with with the reflector tape around the top.)The 3 light kit comes in an equally emergency orange, durable fabric case that zips closed around the top.I can think of many applications for these, and they probably have more applications than any of my other light systems. Beyond having them for on road emergencies, we plan to have them with us during camping and kayaking.I would love to see these in a rechargeable version, but entering and closing the battery compartment is no problem for these and I'm hoping for good battery life expectancy, given the LEDs.Finally, the quality for the price is exceptional on every level. I highly recommend this light system.I paid the full purchase price for this kit and was not compensated in any way for my review - other than the unexpected level of quality for the price that inspired my review.

These are great!
I bought 2 sets of these for each of my adult kids because they travel a lot. They both loved how well they worked in all the different modes. I thought it came with batteries but it doesn't. This winter both will have to carry batteries on their person because of the fridged weather. Batteries will drain from the cold! When my son saw flares on the box he thought of the old type of flare but once he saw & read what they could do he was pleased. I ran & let him use some batteries I knew worked & they were amazed at all the different modes it had. He said before they left town they were getting some batteries. It's better to be prepared that sorry! I hope they never have to use them but if they do they could be safer.

Great Product, Gives Peace Of Mind While On The Road
I've tested this product at home, and since I've only recently received it, I've thankfully not needed to use it on the road just yet. Based on my tests, though, these LED flares will DEFINITELY be seen at a great distance and keep you safe -- these are really BRIGHT! They should be visible day or night. The multiple lighting modes (flashing Morse code, strobe, rotating, flashlight, etc., etc.) will catch everyone's eye and let them know that there are hazards ahead. With a built-in foldable hook on the back along with a magnet, you can always find a way to display them prominently on your vehicle. I also like the zippered storage bag. This product is well worth the price -- it's a keeper!

New Generation Flares
I was a bit skeptical buying these over the traditional flares which do start a fire if needed (for bug-out bag people). However, these are easier to use, last longer both in terms of one event and also certainly for the life of the "flare". They do offer different blinking patterns and it's great they can angle up to be seen easier. I do like that they are compact and have their own storage bag.Turns out, they are pretty darned good!!

Fun, cheap addition to my snowblower!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. These are meant for keeping in an emergency bag in your car, and I'm doing that now that spring is here. I actually bought these a few months ago mainly to add some flashing lights to my 2-stage snowblower. Overkill? Probably. Cool? In my opinion, yes! The magnets are strong, and each light uses 3 AAA batteries. The different patterns are great too. I prefer the rotating pattern, but there are strobe and solid patterns as well.

Don't waste your time! None of the three worked properly!
You would think that maybe one of the three would work......but no. They don't come with batteries and as advertised each unit uses three double A's. Well, I guess they would use them if they worked. In my 14 years of buying on Amazon, this will be my first return. Why did I have to give one star! Zero stars should be an option!

White LEDs (flashlight mode) does not work
The yellow flashing, rotating, pulsating lights on the perimeter of these units work just fine - and as others have said, they are very bright! But, the white LEDs on the front of the units do not come on at all. This is the flashlight mode. It is supposed to be the last of the light-modes. The fact that none of the three units have a flashlight mode suggests a manufacturing flaw. Not happy!

Difficult to insert battery
I was initially very happy to see these flares but changed my mind when I tried to open one to insert the batteries. Definitely not worth the effort.
