This is probably one of the best bird cages I've ever come across. It's solid, sturdy, beautiful, and efficient. When my finches surpriserised me with six babies, I was desperate for a cage to house them all for the time being. Knowing that I can separate them when need be brings peace of mind. This was a great investment, easy to assemble and gives my littlest babies room to grow (though I will need to buy a second breeder cage because there are four pairs.)

Just assembled this cage and it was impressive! The quality is excellent. Instructions were clear and the design simplifies the components. Only two types of bolts, One size has a nut in a separate bag and the other is based on threaded inserts already on the cage in it's own bag. Comes with small wrench and that is all you need. Don't let the title "breeder Cage" turn you away. I have had finches in the past and this cage is perfect for finch and canary birds. Things to consider about this cage. Finches like to fly across the cage and this cage is 40 inches wide by 20 inches tall. Has two smaller square bottom trays, these trays are not wide and will be easier to clean. With the center divider, you can treat your birds on left side and slide in the divider and clean one side and once clean, pull the divider and treat the birds on the right side and then clean the left side. The trays are made from a thick milk carton style plastic, slightly flexible and sturdy, not brittle. Finally, The front of the cage is somewhat busy, all service is on the front. Easy solution: Since the cage is on wheels, just face the back of the cage outward so you can enjoy your birds, you don't open the large doors that often with finches and by making the so-called "back" of the cage the display side. Time to service just roll the cage 90 degrees like a door and then service the cage. My only wish is that Yaheetech would make a 20 inch tall flight addition. These "breeder" cages are stack able but it would be nice to have an "annex" expansion, where you remove the 6 bolts on the top and add 4 sides and move the current top up. This would allow for a full 40 inch by 40 flight space. Very happy with this cage!

This cage is amazing! My kids and I have our "own" birds, so they sleep in each of our bedrooms. One child is getting a 5th bird, so her current cage setup was not going to work since she has a smaller room and can't easily fit another large cage in there. I got this and then the other 2 that will go on top. They are sleep cages as they are out all day, but are big enough that the current Quaker & Cockatiel don't mind. The quality is way better than I expected for the price. I figured it would be just the thin wire that is on inexpensive cages. Instead it it a heavier frame (but still lightweight enough to lift/move it). I feel it is comparable to the more expensive cages at the bird stores. Her birds are less skilled at doing thing at a higher height, so instead of storage under the cage we will turn that into a play area for the birds. The exterior does not have horizontal bars, only vertical, so harder for them to climb up (have a ladder so they can get inside the cage if they choose), but they seem to be managing and can make it to the horizontal supports that are spaced out. Assembly was easy--my child did at least half of it on her own.

Updating my review! After having this cage with a second story added to it, it finally fell apart, but not before I got an A&E quality cage. A few weeks ago, I noticed that it was starting to tilt, so I tried to look to see what the problem was. I checked all of the screws, and fasteners, but couldn't see any issues other than a few screws that needed tightening. So I tightened them. It started to get worse, so I bought a new cage and got my finches in just in time! It collapsed on me as I was trying to push it into the corner! I'm so glad my birbs weren't in there when it pitched over! Anyway, I'm glad I got a good one now! The old one was ok while it lasted, but the new one is so much nicer and sturdier! I got the after seeing people in my finch group on Facebook saying they had it and liked it. I read the reviews on Amazon and decided to purchase it. It arrived packed well and with instructions included. I checked to make sure everything was included and I had a few extra pieces of hardware, and everything else was there. It was easy to put together and I did it by myself. I got some fake greenery for the back of the cage because the birds like to roost in it at night time. I like the removable divider because my finches were not totally used to being together 24/7 and I could separate them if they didn't get along. When I put them in the cage, I kept the divider out until the evening. I have finally been able to keep the divider out because they are getting along now. The cage is perfect for my birds. I am very happy with it and I think they are also. They can fly a lot better now. I did get smaller perches for their feet because the perches supplied were too big for finches.

I was able to assemble this cage with no help, although a third arm would have been nice. A bit cumbersome to handle alone. I wish it was taller overall, but I'm pleased with the purchase and the birds are happy!
