Ammo Cans are Great for Projects
Why purchase a beat up used one from surplus store when you can buy pristine new ones (without the stenciling too!). Great quality at a reasonable price.I created a battery box for distributing power from my solar panel with one of these. The perfect container for my project.

Brand new, proper metal cases with rubber seal
In short: Great boxes, this was my third time buying from these brand and so far very happy.Real metal boxes, not like those plastic ones that can (and do) break if you have the bad luck to let one fall from a pickup to the ground while being full. And yeah, its not fun having to track all the contents of the box all around the ground on an open/outdoors area...Boxes are brand new, so no chance of corrosion, paint scratches, or deformed walls as I had when buying cheap used ones.So how much bulk will a .30cal can fit?Filling them with room to spare (around 1.5" below the lid), a can will fit over:2,100 of 22lr, or1,000 of 9mm or300 of 7.62x51/.308

Skip the plastic stuff... these are still the best.
If you regularly haul or store bulk ammunition, these USGI-style ammo cans are still the best option. I visit the range weekly, and every time I get a bit lazy and dump more than a few boxes of rounds into those "freebie" plastic containers that often ship with bulk ammo purchases, the plastic handles fail at the worst possible moments. These cans are Marine-proof, and will last you for years of service, while providing proper storage for your ammunition, crayons, etc. Be safe, and keep your powder dry, my friends.

Great for storing .223/556
Very good price and has the space to hold a good amount of ammo. As you can see I had to take a certain type of ammo out of the box so it can fit.

Get These Not Competitors
I have a lot of ammo cans. I use none of them for ammunition. They are a great way to store basically anything--especially if that thing is you something you want to protect from water or insects. I wouldn't submerge these cans, but no rain is going to get anything inside these wet. These cans aren't cheap, but they are the best manufactured out of any that I have.

Excellent, though I'm a bit picky
Ammo cans arrived quickly and were packaged very well. That was a nice surprise. Quality is good, but I gave 4 stars for two reasons. 1) the paint looks like a satin finish instead of matte finish, which causes the color to not match actual military ammo cans. 2) They feel much thinner and less rugged than my ammo cans from Federal. If those 2 things were changed I would give a 5 of 5. I am using to store 9mm, 5.56x45, .22, and 12 gauge ammo and you can fit a lot in these. They do function identically to military cans in that the dimensions match, they stack, and have a rubber seal and same mechanics. I would recommend but would really love them to be identical to the ones Federal ammunition makes. In my picture you can see the difference. These cans are on the right, the others on the left.

perfect storage for all calibers, great price in bulk
bought a 12 pack on these. th build quality is top notch, the seals are good, and the size is perfect. i used these specifically to stack side by side and on top of one another, in a safe. perfect for pistol ammo 50 round boxes, .22 misc containers, 30 cal boxes of 20, etc. I sorted my boxes by caliber and labeled the neds and tops of each box. perfect storage, whatever heavy duty needs you may have. price these out and buy the 12, its literally a deal.

Really good cans - excellent value.
Clean, paint on new metal (not repainted), opens and closes easily, good gasket, just the right size compared to the 30cal which get quite heavy when loading them up with ammo. I fit 22 20-round boxes of 5.56... put the rest in the mags and ready to go to the range.
