The Telegraph All New Sudoku Puzzles 1 (The Telegraph Puzzle Books)

Nice mix of levels, but the grids are very small if you might need to write some numbers in like I do. One per page and think they could have been bigger without increasing the book size.

This collection is broken into 5 sections. Gentle, moderate, tough, diabolical and severe. My quarrel with this book is it's definition of the word "gentle". I've been doing Sudoku at all levels for a long time, so I know the difference between "gentle" and "extreme". The other sections are well graded, good testing puzzles. But believe me, many of the puzzles labelled gentle, are in fact pretty tough, at the very least. Whoever compiled this collection wasn't trying hard enough with this section. So if you're a newcomer to the joys of Sudoku, avoid the Telegraph collections until you've built up some confidence.
