Excellent for what I used - Updated
I bought a car at auction, a 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan that was announced as a no-start and no run. When I got it and diagnosed it, it had a failed timing chain tensioner that caused all the intake valves to be bent. I bought this kit to replace the timing set in the 2.0L engine. There are two chains, but I only used the main chain, the tensioner, and the chain guides for camshafts. I did not use the chain for the oil pump, as my original was still in good shape. It worked well, however the tensioner is of a different design than the original one that I removed (the one that broke and destroyed the valves in the engine). The original has a ratchet, the teeth sheared off and cause the engine to break. This one has indentations machined into the plunger, with a clamp that can be positioned to maintain tension on the timing chain. This design appears to be very crude, but it is effective and could potentionaly be more reliable than the original as it has fewer points of failure. Just make sure to position the clamp after setting the tensioner. The clamp is what limits the travel of the plunger. If the plunger travels excessively, be prepared to remove the cylinder head and replace bent valves. My car now runs perfect, and am happy with the results.UPDATE: Jan 14, 2020 - The chain for the crank to camshaft timing failed after 12,000 miles. I would still purchase this again, even if just for the guides and chain tensioner, but this time I will be using an OEM chain.

Think Twice!
One guide rail broke and the chain stretched over a course of 3000 miles more then the original which lasted 100k miles. I did not use the tensioner as it already had the pin pulled when I received this kit. Overall this is just a waste of time, energy, and money. Listen to the other comments, as you will end up having to do your timing again and possible head rebuild.

Good kit I would just not use the chains. One was missing a link. Just buy febi chains and use the rest of the kit. Fcpeuro also has something like that that comes out to around the same price. Not many miles on it so far but I dogged it pretty hard to test for leaks and the febi chains held up with these guides. Quite a bit of slop in the original chains at 114k. Worth doing if you plan on keeping your vw a while.
