YALE X5 2 KEY CYLINDER BRASS

Immediately out of the box you can see the quality in the key, the weight of the barrel and the lack of jiggle in the barrel. It fit into the space of the old barrel with some minor chiselling required to accommodate the larger screw fittings. It is expensive but with the 4 keys that came with mine (only expected 2) its sensibly priced for the security.

I was looking for a replacement meeting the requirements to get a cheaper rate on the uk insurance. This is exactly it. Super easy to mount and screw. I never done it before and all you need is a tutorial in youtube and a screwdriver. After 10min you’re done!The brass color is nice, photos from object description are reflective of what you’ll get.Key goes in even easier than in my old lock and they feel more secure. Will repeat my purchase once I move out.Ps:Consider a metalsaw in case your rim cylinder is too long for your door (which wasn’t the case for mine).

The fit was not quite right even though it was a like for like swap. The barrel was slightly longer so had to use different screws. The bar was fairly easy to cut to size...I would recommend using a hacksaw to thin it down first.It is still a very good sturdy lock that is very easy to install and worth the price. Would have liked to have 3 keys though.

Exactly what I needed

Easy to exchange for the old barrel, but you will need a junior hacksaw. but the quality is outstanding and well worth the 2 or 3 extra pounds to get the 4 key one. I recently had extra keys cut for different lock and they were £10 each. Overall highly recommended

Higher-security cylinder latch, having an additional (sixth) pin in the locking mechanism and a pair of steel (hopefully hardened) pins just behind the front fascia to make it much more difficult to align a drill with the two retaining bolts.After 30 years-plus of multiple daily usage, my standard Yale latch was showing signs of wear, sometimes being impossible to turn until the depth of key insertion was carefully adjusted. With the addition of a smidge of PTFE-loaded oil, maybe unnecessarily, the action of this replacement is now deliciously smooth. The delivery time for the version with the 4 keys I wanted was initially several weeks, but was updated to be merely a fortnight, and saved me maybe £10 on buying the 2-key variant and having extra keys cut - even at a well-known chain of shoe menders and key cutters.The only downside, as mentioned by another respondent, was the need to cut the length of the retaining bolts, but bolt length depends upon the thickness of the door anyway. I'd prefer to have bolts provided which are too long than too short; it's infinitely more difficult to make a bolt longer!

Easy to swap but a little thicker than my stock lock so had to cut the screws . The picture for the silver one shows a cheap lock you do get the high end one as per description with anti pick , kyte mark etc
