Tara's All Natural Handcrafted Gourmet Sea Salt Caramel: Small Batch, Kettle Cooked, Creamy & Individually Wrapped - 11.5 Ounce

I was initially hesitant to purchase these caramels after reading reviews about people receiving the product melted or the container half full and other complaints. Normally I order Kraft caramels but for $9.99 I decided to take the plunge and buy 2 containers. I’m glad I did! Both of them arrived full to the top with caramels and none of them were melted or had any problems of any kind. I just popped one into my mouth and I’m writing this review while eating it. If you’ve ever had a butterscotch hard candy it tastes kind of like that but it’s soft and chewy with just a pinch of salt. I can tell that these are homemade for sure. The reason is because I can taste individual ingredients like butter & brown sugar & even a tiny bit of molasses from the brown sugar used to make these caramels whereas with processed foods distinguishing individual ingredients while eating it can be tough due to being processed and refined to conformity. The sea salt is wonderful! It’s a perfect treat for when you’re craving something sweet & salty. I wouldn’t say there’s too much sea salt but because it is salt when you get that large grain of sea salt and crush it between your teeth you definitely get that blast of salt. taste. I try to just swallow the salt as a grain of salt rather than trying to crush with my teeth to prevent getting too much salt taste. I would definitely order these again IF the price remains at $9.99. I highly recommend that anyone who likes caramel/butterscotch give these a try. Don’t be afraid of all the bad reviews. No one is perfect and sometimes the fault is on Amazon’s side. For example the people who got melted ones probably ordered in Summer and then Amazon left them in a hot warehouse and then a hot delivery truck. Anyway I’ve typed too much so just buy these and your sweet tooth will thank you for it. ;)

Tara’s sea salt caramels are delicious with an excellent texture. These caramels are sweet, of course, and have noticeable sea salt crystals in every bite. For me, these are the perfect balance of sweet and salt. These are sweet so a serving of 3 is satisfying and 130 calories isn’t a huge diet blow. These are slightly chewy, but are softer, smoother and creamier than most caramels I’ve tried. These remind me a bit of the texture of See’s scotch kisses, though denser as there’s no marshmallow. These don’t get stuck in my teeth or aggravate my TMJ disorder. Tara’s caramels taste so good and fresh like they’re homemade, so I bought a number of the smaller 11.5 oz containers to combine with gift cards for friends and coworkers at the holidays. There’s a lot of great candy and food floating around this time of year, but these are special and I think others will enjoy them as much as I do. The small size container is nice as it doesn’t take much space to leave out on a night stand or table for visitors or savoring a few while reading or watching tv. I haven’t counted, but each container has 9 servings of 3 pieces, so my estimate is about 27 caramels. Each caramel is individually wrapped and also in a screw top plastic container, so they stay fresh and soft and don’t have to be eaten right away. These are candy so they aren’t health food, but they don’t have artificial flavors, dyes or chemicals. These are made of corn syrup, sweetened condensed milk, heavy cream, invert sugar, butter, brown sugar, sugar, natural flavor, sea salt and soy lecithin. These are gluten free but have milk and soy. Tara’s caramels are high quality and so delicious. Love this candy. 5 stars.

I’m a Baker and enjoy trying other works of art. These little guys are tasty. They are soft and pull nicely. Very creamy and texture is lovely. Like a good Caramel should be. They do not stick to your teeth or dental work. The only two negatives are 1. They need a little more salt. I prefer salt flakes with my homemade caramels. Nothing like having the balance of sweet and salty. For me, I just sprinkle a little extra on these and it’s perfect. Then 2. The packaging is smaller than I anticipated. I buy a brand from Sam’s that is similar but isn’t individually wrapped. The squares are much bigger, the container is twice as big and it’s the same price. However, I would still buy these again. They would make a great small gift option for someone; teacher, sitter, neighbor, coach, hostess, police officer, nurse etc. Place a bow on top and a gift tag.

Oh man. I’m honestly speechless. As a foodie, I bought Werthers Chewy Caramels and Tara’s salted caramels to compare. Let me be so clear when I say there is NO comparison between the two. Completely different levels of caramel. This caramel is everything that is good & right. It’s soft & chewy & delectable. You can literally taste the ingredients. I could taste the butter and a hint of vanilla. I could taste the delicious caramel flavor. Just all in one, it’s incredible. I couldn’t so much taste any salt but I get that it’s personal preference. I like mine “extra salted” so I licked the top & sprinkled on some extra sea salt. Heaven. I will be buying many more tubs in the future. Everyone should try this caramel. It’s next level.
