High-Quality, Low-Latency PCIe 4.0 x1 Card for Capture through UVC & DirectShow (OBS, Skype, Etc.)
TL;DRPros: Very high build quality, small and thin design won't clog up your case, heatsink attached to PCB mechanically to pull heat out, elegant, understated matte black heatsink with nice logo. PnP, No drivers required (Windows 10 & 11 tested). No-Latency full passthrough up to 4K60HDR!Cons: Price is a little high considering not as much brand equity as perhaps an Elgato, Blackmagic, or Magewell for example, so price should be a little lower in my opinion. Lack of software suite and specific drivers might be a problem for some. NO HDCP SUPPORT! (If you don't turn off HDCP on PS or Xbox for example, you probably won't get a signal)This is a great, standards based, driver-free capture card. It's speedy and offers great capture with no-fuss or the bandwidth and power issues that can plague USB based capture. However, there are things to be aware of:1. No HDCP Support (If you can't get video from a console, go to your console settings and turn off HDCP, be aware though you won't be able to capture anything that is protected, such as Netflix, Hulu, etc.)2. No software package included for recording or streaming, no problem as there are plenty of free utils like OBS etc. but something to note if you are expecting it like Elgato or Avermedia might include such as RECCentral.3. See the attached picture for all specs that may not be listed here on the product listing, to help you guide your decision in terms of supprot NV12 and YUY configurations, there is a big difference. Please see the picture I attached for more info. Now all that aside, yes, it is pricier than others that can do similar, but they aren't PCIe 4.0 1x, which can offer benefits if you have a congested bus AND you have a newer platform from AMD or Intel. I found the performance to be free of latency and quick to respond, but the lack of drivers to control fine functions and granular things, is not present, you get basic DirectShow controls as this uses standard drivers for operation, that's fine, they're performant enough, it's just not feature rich.If you need a fixed installation based rock-solid capture solution for 4K 30 or below, or need wide gamut deep color at 36-bits, then this is for you, so long as you don't need HDCP.***LAPTOP USERS*** If you have a laptop or something, this is not a product for you, it is for desktop installation only, unless you use an external PCIe chassis or riser card over USB 3.0, and I WOULD NOT recommend that, the chassis maybe as long as it is thunderbolt, but using USB 3.0 risers for moving NV12 or YUY is not advised at high bitrate and while yes there are products that do just that, this was not designed to do it. So while technically you could do it, it won't work and if it does some how, it probably will be very bad and buggy.

Great Quality, could be longer durability
This was a good product that lasted for 2 years for me, unfortunately, the quality kept playing a distorted image after the 2 years. GREAT quality, could be better durability, however.

Does its Job!
I chose this particular capture card because of the price, and it seems to be the only card that my computer has the requirements for. I did my research and knew that this product does not output 4k, but it can capture it, and downscale it to 1080p...which is fine. Its easy to connect, everything installed flawlessly. The included software is robust; the directions were not that complicated. I was confused about some audio issues; the vid popped right up.After getting everything straight, I've been streaming in 1080p ever since. (twitch.tv/redpillgamin for example). The only 2 things I have a gripe about with this product: 1. Every time I boot my PC up, I have to go into sound settings and disable/enable the pengo audio device to get it working. Not a huge problem, and the work around took me hours to figure out...however it shouldn't be 2. Audio seems to stream through no matter what. I've disabled all audio devices and the audio still comes through. This means I have no control over it. This may be a problem on my side, idk yet. In the meantime I have set other audio devices to compensate.I bought this to get my streaming career off the ground, and it absolutely did it job

Not really 60 FPS @ 4k
I was hoping that this device could help me stream games with higher fps (I am using 1080Ti and it's still not good enough when streaming some high end games). This one says 4K @ 60fps but I don't think that is entirely true. My game runs at 60 fps without this device and only runs at 30 fps with this (not even streaming). Believe me, you don't wanna play any action or shooter with only 30 fps. My guess is because it only supports HDMI not DP.However, giving 3 stars because it works without requiring any setup and it integrates with any streaming software very well. I'm guessing it might work properly with 1080p but I only have 4k monitors so I could not try.

Really Impressive
The card itself is really solid and well built, really easy to install and was instantly recognized by my Windows 10 PC. Tested it with my Nintendo Switch and PS4 in Open Broadcaster and all I can say is that I'm very pleased with the performance. Is not laggy at all, the frame rate is amazing and haven't had any issues with it. It is also great that it has an HDMI Out in case that you don't want to use the PC monitor and transfer it back to a TV. So far after 3 weeks of use everything has been fine. I really recommend it, but I do recommend that if you don't know how to install this yourself ask the help of someone who knows how to install PC components in order not to damage your PC or the card. But really great overall.

Awesome quality with a device the size of a deck of cards.
This is the best bang for your buck card you can get right now. I use this for my Xbox One X to pass through 4k on my TV but record gameplay for videos and streams in 1080p.It's super easy to use with no drivers. It works as a webcam input essesntially. OBS automatically recognised it. (Don't use MPEG codec for better inage results) it's even more affordable than the AverMedia Live Gamer Portable 2 Plus, which is $50 more and does the same thing with WORSE quality. In short, this card is fantastic!!!EDIT: June 1st, 2019 (originally purchased in February)The capture card now REFUSES to pass through 4K anymore, the main reason why I purchased it. I've contacted Pengo and it seems to have been a bad version of the firmware that I managed to get a hold of. The team there answered my questions really quick (despite the time differences) and it was an error on my part. They were still nice enough to help me with fixing my issues.Just a tip, wait until there firmware is officially posted on their site.

Partial resolution
I tried to capture signal from a MacBook Pro (13-inch, M1, 2020) connected to aLG D2343P 1080p monitor trough the Pengo 4K HDMI Grabber, the resolution on the MacBook is 1920x1080px @ 60fps / 60hz, the monitor display the image well, but for some reason, the Pengo only displays a cropped portion of the screen, I guess 75% width/height, In a Mac QuickTime Movie Recording and OBS only show a 1280x720px capture option and it is shown cropped, same on the latest Windows 10 update, OBS only shows 1280x720px, also, it is difficult to make it work, many restarts, disconnecting and reconnecting the cable, NOT recommended.

Allows video camera to be used as webcam.
I have yet to find a webcam with decent quality output. Video can has the output quality, but the hdmi signal is one way, traveling out of the computer. The Pengo box allows the video camera to talk to the computer. I now have two identical setups, one at school, the other at home. There is occasional signal degradation, but it could be from the camera, the computer, or the Pengo . For my use, I can live with it. The focus us certainly superior to what I had.

Good value for the price, but inconsistent
The output is pretty decent, but due to some wonky driver issues (specially if you are also using a usb webcam) its inconsistent. Sometimes requires you plug and unplug the thing back in.For those of you not getting video and/or audio, if you are using a PS4, you have to go into the settings and turn off HDCP under your system settings. This is a copyright protection for HD content.

Works great! Love it
Really love this product. It does exactly what we are needing and running a gaming lounge means we need things to work easy and with no fuss. The Pengo 4K Grabber is the way to go to capture practically anything through HDMI. We are already looking into getting more. They explain everything you need to do to get it up and running on their website, in box instructions and in a introductory email, so set up was of course a breeze. We do notice some audio delays when it's running for a while but they were happy to help us via email and it was just a frequency issue when running the device in OBS Studio. It's all sorted out and we couldn't be happier. And yes, it will capture Nintendo Switch, PS4 (regular and Pro), Xbox One S and One X, and any 1080p or higher webcam you have.

Close to being awesome, but a great value
Well made, looks good, and smaller than I was expecting. No lag I could detect. Wish they provided their own software to use that the program they suggest (PotPlayer and VLC) are not the most user friendly to setup for this purpose. Also still trying to get better quality video captured but that is again probaly due to the software not being very easy to use and configure.

Pengo4k or CamLink4k.
I had issues with audio delay. Nothing to do with the Pengo. Figured that out after buying the CamLink. Latency issues had more to do with my other peripherals. Computer, audio mixer, cables… not these. Both Pengo and CamLink are great, prefer Pengo as it is not plastic (camlink) and Pengo has USB C. I use them for Facetime, zoom, meet, Screenflow

So easy to use, it just works!
I've used multiple different brands of capture cards / USB units and they have been hit or miss. Most need special software and can only do 1080P and some like my latest blackmagic won't accept all signals and flakes out. I bought this because it was cheap and said it supported 4K and I was very surprised by how easy it worked! You don't need to install drivers and do updates etc. Plug it in and it works. Even better is it works as a "webcam" meaning you can use it with some apps that won't allow actual cameras to be used :) I would HIGHLY reccomend this if your looking for a reliable and easy solution. I've already had a few freinds buy them.

Compact simple capture box
I wanted to try this product after watching some reviews on Youtube but the reviews on amazon gave me mixed feelings. I still decided to try it. the product is very compact and I'm using it on my macbook. I've tried using OBS but the settings are a bit complicated. The first time I had issues and the image did not appear, but after contacting their customer service, the problem was resolved. It took awhile, so make sure your settings are correct. Afterwards, I found out that using quicktime is very easy for simple capturing. Overall, I'm glad I don't have to install a different software to use this.

It’s got a nice design and is quite well-built
I received this device this morning. It’s got a nice design and is quite well-built. On one end you have the HDMI 2.0 input, passthrough output, and a full-size USB 3.0 port and package included male to male USB 3.0 cable. On the other, it has a 3.5mm headphone jack, microphone jack. Plugging in headphones also gives a direct no-latency output of your HDMI audio. It’s basically got a little mixer built-in. I tried it on PS4 and Xbox 360 recording gameplay . It is easy to set up and I'm enjoy this device. I will definitely use it for my live streaming application and projects.
