Finally a tear stain remover that works!!!
Not a sponsored review!! When I rescued my Clancy, he was just a mess. Besides being malnourished and missing half of his fur and being covered in wounds, he also had these powerful tear stains that just wouldn't go away. For whatever reason, his eyes are constantly watering to the point that he looks like he's crying all day long. So to try to remedy it, I used the Burt's Bees' tear stain remover for a little while, and it definitely helped a little bit, but maybe only like 30%. I was hesitant to try this one because it's like three times the price, but DANG it's worth it! It took a bit of time, but after a couple of weeks it was very clearly working, and within a month, the stains were just gone. Because he still is constantly tearing up, I apply it every morning (I know the bottle says to put it on a swab and wipe, but I found it more effective to just apply it directly to his face and let it soak in for about an hour before I wipe it away). He seems completely unbothered by the fact that it's so close to his eyes and the daily routine even helps to build trust between us. Anyway, I VERY much recommend this for your pups if their stains are stubborn like Clancy's were!

Worked well for my cat.
While i think it is a bit expensive, the plus side is that it works. It is not a miracle solution so don't expect to remove old stains but it made removing new ones easier and they wont accumulate as before. I also checked its ingredients with my cat’s vet and he approved that it is harmless. Overall, works better than water.

Not sure if it works
I’ve been using this product for 3 days consecutive when I received it and every 3 days or so from them on. I’ve also cut and brush the hair by her eyes and it’s gotten better, but I think that’s because I cut it out. She still has a light browning/ rusty look but I can’t tell if it’s because of the product or my grooming. If also had my pup drink purified water, rather than from tap and not allowing her to lick water from when I get out the shower. I heard hard water gives them the rusty eyes too. Either way, 3 starts because it does smell harsh. Smells like a faint rubbing alcohol mixed with sugar water. Also amazon’s logo is on the bottle, so it may not be legit. I do not order the wipes but I’ll drop a little dot under her eye and rub it in, then I brush the area with a lash brush to groom out her eye booger that get stuck. I have a 2lb Maltese pure white for reference. Amazon is not giving me an option to upload photos.

Really works
I’ve tried 3 others and this is only one that has made a significant difference on my white dogs eye area. It takes a few weeks but definitely seeing a major improvement. I’m using exactly as directed with a tip. Great product, excellent value for the price.

Made the problem worst not better
Normally I wouldn't have to use products like these, but my 4-year-old's eye stains have gotten worse in the past few months. After reading the amazing reviews on this product, I decided to give the bottle a try. I read the bottle over and over again, left questions, and did my research on how to use this product before starting to even use it, just so I KNEW I was doing it right. Right after using the products, my dog's eyes have gotten lighter and I was so excited because I thought they were working- until the next day came. At first, I didn't realize it until her eyes came extremely darkened and I even noticed that it was causing the stains to spread not get better. Again, I USED IT ONCE A DAY AND PUT A DECENT AMOUNT ON. Overnight it kept getting darker and darker and kept spending. I only put the "medication" in the one area, nowhere else, so it's not like I spread it myself. I know it says it can take up to two months to work and I have been only using it for a little more than two weeks but there is no way I am going to keep using it until the staining covers her whole face. I also noticed that the dabree of the staining can increase as well. WATER DID BETTER THAN THIS PROTECT. I am not trying to be mean, in fact, congratulations to everyone who is having successful results, but it was a complete waste of money. I wish I didn't use as much of it as I did or I would get a refund for it.

Fantastic when used with a Comb!!!
This Tear Removing Solution works amazing on my Maltipoo Puppy! I used it according to directions, on a cotton swab/ Q-Tip applied until the the cotton swab was completely saturated, but not dripping. Then I very carefully applied it to the area around my puppy’s eyes where her goopy-ness and brown staining is, using extreme caution not to get it in her eyes since other reviewers stated that it did irritate their pup’s eyes. I also purchased a very fine tooth Tear Stain Removing Comb (cheap on amazon) and carefully combed out the area after applying this product and got the huge chunks and goobers out with no pulling or fingernail picking! I haven’t noticed a difference yet in the staining, which I imagine has happened over time and will take time to remove. Dixie May need a trim around her eyes as well. I have only used the product twice and will update my review with how well the stains come out after the recommended 8 weeks. For bigger dogs I feel like you might need to use a cotton ball if the area is large, but for Dixie, the cotton swab and tear comb combination worked perfect! Cannot express enough how happy I am that I don’t have to pull and pick at her cute little face to get the goobers!

What is particulate floating in the bottle!?
Over all, the solution seems to help. No more than any other product I have used and I have to clean the tip each time I use this one, so yes, two stars. It works, it doesn't smell but it is a pain and when I reached out to the company I got nothing in response. The bottle/solution is full of a free floating particulate that I hope is the ground up yam. I am able to squeeze out just enought liquid for one cotton ball before I have to pop the tip off and clear it out. Again. I reached out to the company to see if this was normal and got no response. I just threw out half of the bottle because it wasn't worth my time.

Based on the reviews, I wasnt sure if the product would work well. However, Ive seen amazing results with my white furred Eskimo. The solution that comes in the bottle is of a gel consistancy. I found it easiest to put a dime sized amount on the back of my hand, use a Q-Tip to absorb the solution, and gently rub it into the fur around my dog's eyes. Within 3 weeks of using it once/twice a week, my dog's tear stains are virtually gone. I maintain it by doing this process once a week, and she stays free of tear stains and eye gunk! I would definitely reccommend this!

Have been using it for a week and have seen a change in the stains of the eyes and the beard, but not all gone yet , bottles says it could take 3 weeks.

I try it on my dog and it doesn't remove all the stain. and his fur stay yellow. I thought it will work better then that. I use it every day. I thought after a week all the stain will have being removed but no.

I really don't like leaving bad reviews but after what this stuff did to our Maltipoo puppy, I feel the need to...the day we started putting this on his tear stains, we also went to a ski resort, where it is very dry so we didn't realize the correlation right away. It took us a week to recognize that it was making our puppy extremely itchy. He'd cry and throw himself around when at its worse. We suspected allergies, mites, parasites.... Took him to 2 different vets (one at the ski resort, one at home). Ski resort said give antihistamines as he's very allergic to something. Second vet is testing him for a neurological disorder because he does not stop scratching. We've now figured it out... It was this tear stain remover all along. We've now discontinued using it for over a week and he scratches like a normal pup now. It did lighten the stains, but not worth torturing the little guy. I do not recommend :(.
