I recently planted a pack of mammoth sunflower seeds, and I’m thrilled with the results. These seeds germinate quickly—most sprouted within a week—and the growth has been impressive. The plants shoot up tall and strong, just as advertised, often reaching over 8 feet with proper care. The blooms are huge, vibrant, and a magnet for pollinators like bees and butterflies. They make a beautiful addition to any garden and also work great for creating a natural privacy screen. These seeds are awesome. They germinate fast and grow tall quickly. I wasn't sure how well they'd do in my yard since I had to put them in a spot with just indirect sun, but they have grown up to 6 feet tall in about four months and are just starting to bloom. I imagine they would probably grow faster and taller with the benefit of direct sunlight. Super easy to plant and just leave to do their thing.

I used a squirt bottle to water the seeds twice a day. I gave them a good soaking to make sure the dirt around them stayed wet. Wet soil tells the seeds to wake up! Planted individually in planter bags inside and they are very productive.

I waited to fully grow these to post this review and I’m a very happy customer. They are HUGE!!! They grow to be about 7 or 8 feet? Maybe taller? The flower itself isn’t huge but it’s very pretty. Only downside is that the squirrels love to eat the seeds when I first planted them, but some mesh solved that issue. Plant itself grew fairly quickly— I did add fertilizer. I live in Colorado so the weather can be harsh, even in summer. These babies are strong!!! Would recommend. I still have a lot of seeds left for next summer season.

I planted these plate-sized sunflowers around late May (I think). A handful germinated, but only three fully developed from this packet. Growth was slow, and only one got tall (I'm 5’7”). They were short-lived, but I enjoyed the heck out of those three sunflowers! The color was vibrant, and it attracted a lot of bees and butterflies! I gave it only three stars because I expected a field of these; I will buy again, try planting in February/March instead, and update my review in 2026.

The ones that survived the chipmunks and squirrels digging them out of the soil to eat them all sprouted! So, fantastic seeds that I will definitely buy again next year. It’s not the company’s fault that I planted them so late (due to our short growing season here in Northeast Ohio), the critters ate many of the seeds, and the deer have chewed some of the stalks. After all that, I still have some survivors that are still growing beautifully, even though it’s getting so late in the season. I planted these in pots and in the garden beds. I have to say that the ones in the pots are growing bigger than the ones in the beds. So if you don’t have a lot of room, these will do well in patio pots! Great value too! You get a ton of seeds per packet.
