This radio sounds very good. If you are looking for a good FM, SD player this is it. AM and SW bands were a disappointment. This would make a great desk radio for FM. The included AC cord makes it desktop friendly.

The FM and shortwave reception are good. The general sound quality is good. The external antenna socket was a bonus. The AM band is unusable. There is a constant "buzzing" noise across the AM band. There is a loud "pop" every time the radio is turned on. If you remove the batteries, the channels stored in memory disappear. I bought this at a really good price. If I had paid full retail, I would have returned it.

I was particularly interested in SW in this radio. It performs very well considering it's price of 16 bucks when i got it. It keeps up well against my other more expensive radios and way better than many cheap ones. The sound is really nice from it and it gives very good AM and FM, too. If you can get it at a similar price, go for it. It's kinda like a new-fangled version of the old Roberts radio, and i really like it.
