Great dehumidifier with a minor (fixable) flaw
As with most houses, my (unfinished) basement tends to get pretty humid and stuffy sometimes. The previous owner left a portable air conditioner which worked ok for reducing the humidity, but I could not set it based on relative humidity and having to constantly empty the water bucket was a chore. I hit up Consumer Reports to check their dehumidifier ratings to find one with a built-in pump and this seemed to fit the bill so I ordered it.It arrived pretty quickly, and taking it out of the box and setting it up was easy enough. You cut the strapping, lift the box and remove the dehumidifier. Then you insert the casters, and connect the plastic water tube, I had mine go to the basin next to the washing machine since I don't have a drain in the basement. I turned it on and the humidity dropped from 70% to 40% within a few hours, this things works fast and I can't hear it at all from upstairs. The next day I checked on it after work and the dehumidifier was showing an error code of E5. According to the manual this was a pump sensor error. The bucket was full and it wasn't pumping the water out. I was immediately disheartened. I tried calling support but they were closed already. Having support only open during business hours isn't practical for those of us who work the same hours. I emptied the bucket to see if it happened again and sure enough it happened the next day.I decided to do some my own trouble shooting; I powered off the dehumidifier and unplugged it. After plugging it back in and pressing the pump button, I didn't get an error but the pump was not working correctly. I could hear it working, but I could see in the water tube that it was mostly pumping air. I decided to tip the dehumidifier to the right and it started sucking the water out. Obviously the pump mechanism was working, but it wasn't getting water. I took out the bucket and pushed the black lever that drops the nozzle down for the pump system. As you can see in the first picture, it wasn't going all the way down so it couldn't reach the water. I pushed the clear tubing up and that let the nozzle drop deeper into the water, which you can see in the second picture. I let it do it's thing for a few days and it has been working flawlessly since. While it's a minor design flaw, I could see people getting frustrated especially if they cannot get any support right away.Overall, this thing works great once the tubing is pushed up allowing the nozzle to drop down. Make sure you secure the other end of the tube to something or the weight of the water in the tube and the vibration will make it fall down and it will just pump water all over your floor.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SUPPORT
Missing parts (casters) - very poor manual instructions for utilizing internal pump feature. Phone # on Amazon for tech support was number for Honeywell, not Emerson. Upon reaching Emerson after listening to “all our customer support are busy...you are caller 1 in the queue...” for over 15 minutes - I was told I needed to submit an elaborate email to get the missing casters. Then on to the Internal pump issue. Placed on hold while support looked up the manual. He asked me what page # I was on...then he read the instructions to me!!!! I can read! I’m a pretty good electrician, plumber, painter, framer, as a matter of fact and know my way around a toolbox. Extensive home improvement, maintenance, repair and general construction are well within my capabilities. The “tech” was stumped and the call was disconnected.Ended up connecting a garden hose and not wasting anymore time. Let’s see if the missing casters show up. For a $290, 70 pint unit....I expected much more. Since I’m writing this after only receiving the unit 2 hrs ago - I’ll follow up with a performance review later.

Missing part, broke after 1 yr, poor customer service
Unit came missing air filter.Called multiple times and was promised one would be shipped but they never sent it. Eventually said they don't have the part in stock.Stopped working after about 1 year. When it did work it was pretty good.Pumping function usually worked well.Occasionally the pump function seemed to turn off on its own.Occasionally found small puddle under unit.

Great Dehumidifier and also suggested by Consumer Reports.
I was looking for a humidifier with a pump since my dehumidifier will be sitting on the floor and the water will need to be raised to be routed to the sink. This one is very quiet has been working without an issue now for about 11 months or so. Empties the water on its own when the bucket is full.

Would definitely buy again
Easy to read instructions and to get up and running. Quickly takes humidity down to selected level. I have had no problems after over 200 hours of use. Display of current humidity during operation is helpful. The pump has worked flawlessly. Don’t buy a dehumidifier without a pump or you will endlessly be emptying the container manually. It is amazing how much water this thing takes out of the air!! If I HAD anything negative to say it would be that you can hear it running- but with three speed adjustments the operator can choose the sound level and in any case it’s quieter than a room air conditioner.

Strongly consider NOT purchasing this!
I have had this since June 2019. Purchased based on Consumer Reports recommendation for use in my basement.Have to say, it’s one of the worst almost $300 investment I have made in recent years. So loud when it cycles that it disrupts what is going on in my first floor. It does not consistently pumps water; the handle used to dump the bucket has already broken. It truly dehumidifies but it is SUPER disruptive in doing so.I never write negative reviews but would encourage others to strongly consider NOT purchasing this.....
