A clever, handy tool
All too often either my back cast snags or my efforts in bouncing a fly off the bank into the water foul. This easily attaches, secures the lure, and cuts the line. I like it!

Great in theory, but not as great in real life
So I bought this thinking of all the money I would save long term in flies as well as being able to get the flies and lures that others left in trees next to where I fished. When the opportunity arose I had a much harder time securing this to the end of my rod than the video showed. It certainly could have been user error, but the result was it taking a few minutes to put the tool on the end of my rod. When I went to retrieve the lure I was after the retriever fell off of my rod and slowly sank to the bottom of the stream! So there went the investment and all my visions of saving money long term.Like the idea, but didn't work for me in practice.

I always thought that there must be a better way to get your fly out of a tree. Here it is!

Buy this ....it works!!
First day fishing in awhile, had a miscast or two. :) But dang this thing works, and I got my lure and some others from the trees back as well. Worth the money, easy to use.

Broke rod tip while attaching/removing
Did a good job at retrieving about a dozen or so flies this past year, but it snapped the tip off of my Orvis Clearwater while removing the device from the end of my rod. It snapped the rod in between the two anchor points on the device. Will likely attach it to a wading staff or telescoping pole and not my rod again. Be warned.

It works
Just be very careful as the price of a fly is not nearly as much as the price of a fly rod!!!
