The best brew kettle at the best price
I recently purchased the 20 Gallon / 80qt concord brew kettle with thermometer and ball valve. When I opened the packaging and removed the kettle, it was like being a kid on Christmas all over again. The quality of this kettle was very impressive given that this was the cheapest SS kettle with a triply bottom, 2 drilled holes, thermometer, and SS ball valve. It has all the bells and whistles that I need for all grain brewing for making 10 Gallon batches. I don’t have to worry about boil over issues anymore. I did notice the edge of the lid was slightly bent, but it took me a while to even notice. I didn’t really need a lid but it’s nice to have anyways. It was so minor that I didn’t take off any stars for my rating. I would recommend this kettle to anyone wanting to brew 10 gallons on any level. It came with all the hardware and the instructions were a breeze. I installed the thermometer and valve in minutes. Be sure to put about 6-10 wraps of Teflon tape (included!) around all the threads and snug them up with an adjustable wrench. I did a leak test and was good to go. Now I can give it a quick cleaning and start brewing! Don’t be worried about the quality of this kettle, just go for it!

An excellent quality Kettle!
An excellent kettle - not just for the money, but an excellent kettle! The price is a bonus... I needed a 2nd kettle for a hot liqueur tank. I use another well know brand kettle (much more expensive) for my boil. This is way better than I expected. Unlike the cheap deep fry kettles, this has a three ply bottom and super thick sides. I had a problem with the thermometer, temp was off by 15 degrees and couldn’t get it to calibrate. A quick call to the seller (outstanding customer service!) they promptly sent me a new one - temperature was 100% accurate at 100 and 212 degrees without calibration. There customer service gets 6*s - Only reason for not 5*s is the ball valve and connection hardware could be a bit better quality. If they upped the quality of the stainless fittings Concord would give the big boys a run for their money. If I could have a do over I would definitely buy it again!!!

Not perfect, but solid.
UPDATED: One of the 3 that I bought developed a crack in a weld on the 2nd brew. Still waiting on the vendor 2 weeks later as to what they are going to do about it.First the good: I have used several 20 gallon pots of various brands, and these compare fairly well to them. They are (mostly) polished. (more on that in a moment). They are tri-clad, though I do not know what they make-up of the layers are (I assume stainless and aluminum at this price). The top fits well enough, and the holes are drilled as advertised. Now, the not so good: Every one of them had welding defects, especially around the rim. The ground area where the weld was is not well polished, inside or out. There are dings on the rim ring where they were either clamped badly, or the metal didn't meet up correctly before welding. All the defects are primarily cosmetic, and do not interfere with the use of the kettles, but they are quite noticeable even to a casual inspection. For the price, I am not unhappy, but I would hope they tighten up their quality control. For the neither here or there: I see a lot of people that are unhappy about the lack of volume markings on the interior. To them I would say that if those markings are that important to you, spend the extra $100 to buy one with them. If you don't want to do that, they are not all that hard to put in yourself with a bit of patience, vinegar, and a battery. That is what I plan to do with them before I start using them. As for the leaks people talk about around the weld-less feed-through: yes, they do leak. I ended up buying replacement weldless feed-throughs from my local supply store. All said, these are decent kettles for the price. If you want perfection, spend more. I just want good beer without paying more for my brewery than I did for my house.

Great brew kettle!!!
I can only say good things about this kettle. I bought the 60 qt./15 gal. kettle with thermometer and ball valve to replace and upgrade my 5 gal. brewery. This replaces a $300 kettle and is every bit as good as far as quality is concerned. There are no etched gallon markings on inside, this is not a problem for me as I always measure and add. I will most likely etch my own important measurements anyways. When the pot arrived I was immediately impressed with the quality and when I opened the box containing the valve and thermometer I was pleasantly surprised to find a roll of teflon tape included. I wrapped all external threads with 5-7 full wraps before i started to assemble the kettle. The bulkheads are off the shelf but quality components that will work as good as anything else out there. The silicone washers were great quality and fit very well. once assembled I tightened everything up a little tighter than hand tight. I did not want to over tighten and deform the washers. I filled the kettle with 12 gallons of hot tap water (125 degrees F) for a leak test. No leaks at all. left it full for 6 hours and still no leaks. interestingly enough the water had only lost 20 degrees after 6 hours. Boil test was next the Triply bottom works well to distribute heat. Boiled for 1 hour with no leaks. manipulated valve during each step with no leaks.I am very impressed with this brew kettle. I will be buying one more at this size and a 20 gallon pot for a mash tun as well. I don't need a lot of bells and whistles to brew great beer. Compared to the big name kettle I already own I feel like for half the price i am getting a closely comparable kettle. Once I brew about 5 batches with it I will update my review if I have to.I would highly recommend this kettle and I have to my home-brew club members!

Triply is the way to go!
Great pot, very sturdy feel to it. The triply bottom is a great feature considering the weight this pot can hold. Over 90lbs of just water alone. I'm using it to finish maple syrup on a 180,000 BTU propane burner and it's perfect. Only thing I don't like is no matter how much thread tape you use the bottom hole for the valve drips, and has to be resealed with each use.
