Little Prince 75th Anniversary Edition: Includes the History and Making of the Classic Story

I accidently left my original copy of "The Little Prince" behind in a move. This new purchase from Amazon made for a wonderful replacement. Very happy with the anniversay edition. It will remain as an important part of my possession.

I had a literary project last year I spent weeks researching on, to search for themes and symbolism and such. i desperately wanted to find words and letters from saint-exupery, and his relatives or friends though. i didnt know where to start. i even tried all kinds of french browsers, but i gave up, because it was too hard and i accepted that everything i needed would be in french, or with poor translationsBut this book changed everything! I wish i had this before. If youre as much as a fan of the little prince as i am, this is everything you couldve ever wanted. i havent been this excited as to receive something as this book. It has everything. Letters and notes from saint-exupery himself to others and to himself. Extra paintings and chapters. It even has an entire section dedicated to themes and symbolism, as well as morals, with each of the characters! It left me speechless

This is a beautiful anniversary edition book with lots of historical information and images about the story and the illustrations. Just beautiful. I bought it as a gift and I was very happy to give it. Remembering the story from my childhood and the beautiful meaning behind it. I can highly recommend it.

Read this tale when you get the time. All adults should read this some time.

This is a well done version of the timeless classic with loads of additional details on it's endearing author.The audio is available to download (on Harperbooks.com), a big plus for younger kids...I intend it as a birthday gift this year for a real-life Little Prince who lives in France 💖

I absolutely love this book! My mother worked at the publishing company in Paris, and had a part in carrying the heavy printing plates for it. She would have been 17-18 yrs old at the time. Quite the history behind that book! Unfortunately, she passed away this year, a day before her 93rd birthday which would have been May 10th. I wanted to have this book to help me understand more about it, and what it was like when she was taking part and having a hand in this book production at the publishers. Thank you for this amazing hard covered book of the "Little Prince" ("Le Petit Prince") and for the audio portion as well!

This is a review for the 75th anniversary edition (including history and making of the classic story, golden cover).First of all, it uses the Wood's translation which is not my preferred one. But really I bought this for the extra content and it's worth it. Lots of information on Saint-Expuery, the process of writing the little prince, some original drafts/sketches, a 'missing' chapter (really only a page but still interesting), and 'fans of' the little prince (famous people's thoughts/comments/interactions with the story etc).Overall I wouldn't have this as the 'only' edition of the Little Prince you have as it's rather busy and the translation is not the best one (in my opinion). But if you're a fan you definitely should have this, there was a lot of content (more than I expected), and it's clearly been put together by someone who wants to show serious appreciation for the little prince as opposed to the publisher trying to get some extra money out of consumers by just chucking in a tiny bit of random content.The book itself is also a larger format (more A4 sized though not quite that tall) and well made/sturdy. Very impressed as it exceeded my expectations and has content that is unavailable anywhere else (as far as I'm aware). Worth it and a true celebration of the story.

Edición cuidada y preciosa

If you are an admirer of exup like me this is the best book to have.few days back had bought a 70th anniversary edition (this is 75th) for 1050rs which included a package of the story book and audio cd(unless you are blind or reading issues u won't find this cd very appreciating). compared to that small book this 75th edition is bigger and better with a lot of sketches, history ,an audio download code and costs only 700rs more.
