Awesome beginner reptile enclosure
Love this enclosure for an appropriately sized terrestrial/semi-arboreal reptile. Not just for tortoises, I'm using this for my juvenile bearded dragon and it's great. The PVC bottom holds a decent amount of substrate, and the hide/removable bathing and feeding area is useful for the most popular reptiles. Throw a few decorations in there to match your creature's natural environment and you've got them truly decked out.The size is similar to a 40 gallon tank if I'm not mistaken, if not a bit deeper and less wide. Not 100%. It also has a simple latch lock, which has kept my two curious (albeit mildly tempered) cats from breaking into it.I opted to mount my lighting to the grate (wide spaced wires btw, so UVB isn't obstructed!) rather than hang it off the pole that you can attach to the enclosure. The grate seems sturdy enough, I wouldn't reckon it's sturdy enough to hold a person's weight, but it's held up three light fixtures and a mealworm dish perfectly fine, even when opened and closed over the course of months. I also removed the ramp because my little guy can climb easily, especially with the decorations I used.My biggest personal downside with this enclosure would be that the bottom slides out, leaving gaps between the walls and floor. This means you can't use loose crickets or other feeders, as they'll just scurry to the edges, find their way through a crack, and drop the the floor of the room...which, come to think of it, also means you couldn't house any smaller snakes in it either. If any...certainly not a cornsnake. Anyways, I've managed to find a system that works for my beardie and me, but it would ultimately be better if it was just sealed around the edges. It's easy enough to clean without taking the bottom out...it's not like you have to hose it down outside. I suppose you could seal it on your own with some kind of pet-friendly sealant, which I might end up looking into. The only other downside I can think of is that the clear walls are made of plastic, which scratches and mars very easily. But it's a value enclosure, let's be honest. I got this for a juvenile beardie who will eventually outgrow it, it was never meant to be permanent. If you're looking for something cute, ultimately temporary, and unique, this is a fantastic choice that doesn't sacrifice your options in setup. But for something permanent and more standard, I recommend going for a bioactive setup in a front-opening glass terrarium. They're daunting to set up, but they're easy to maintain in the long run and they can look natural and beautiful if you get creative.Either way, have fun, and do your research!

Warning to Potential Buyers: Quality Control and Assembly Issues - Buyer Beware
⚠️ Warning to Potential Buyers: Quality Control and Assembly Issues – Buyer BewareI ordered the BIRASIL Wood Tortoise Enclosure with Adjustable Light Stand, 2-Tier Habitat Reptile Cage with Swimming and Feeding Areas (Gray/White), excited to set it up for my lady’s beloved turtles. Unfortunately, the experience was frustrating from start to finish.________________________________________🚚 Damaged Parts on Arrival & Replacement IssuesThe enclosure arrived with a cracked plastic viewing screen — not surprising, as I had seen similar complaints in other reviews. Right out of the box, the damage was obvious. I submitted for a replacement immediately. To Amazon’s credit, the return process was seamless. However, the replacement unit had the exact same plastic screen damaged in the same spot. This clearly highlights a lack of quality control and poor packaging design. The fragile clear plastic is not adequately protected during transit.________________________________________🔧 Combining Two Kits to Make One Usable EnclosureDetermined to get this done, I kept the original unit and used parts from both boxes to create one functional enclosure. Swapping the plastic panels was easy enough (just two screws), but the build process only got more complicated from there.________________________________________🪵 Incorrect Factory Assembly & Defective ComponentsOnce I began assembly, I ran into multiple manufacturing issues:• The wooden lid props were mounted backwards.• Of the four stop blocks, two were installed on the wrong side and two others prevented the lids from closing completely — I had to remove them with a flat-head screwdriver.• The front latches were incorrectly installed on the back. Because of this, I mistakenly mounted the lids on the wrong side. That error left screw holes from the hinges on what should have been the front. After realizing the mistake, I had to redo several steps. Now the enclosure has visible screw holes on both the front and back panels due to the confusion caused by the manufacturer’s error.I removed and repositioned the stop blocks, flipped the lid props to pull from the front (instead of the back, where the hinges are), and used white spackle to patch all unnecessary holes. Thankfully, the spackle blends in well unless you look closely.________________________________________📄 Terrible Instructions & a True Test of PatienceThe instructions were vague and poorly written — completely inadequate for this level of manual correction. Several parts came pre-assembled incorrectly, making the provided directions even less useful. I strongly recommend fully inspecting every component before starting assembly. This process was so frustrating that my lady was in tears trying to figure it out. I stuck with it and made it work — but this enclosure definitely tested my patience.________________________________________✅ Final ThoughtsOnce fully assembled (and modified), this enclosure looks great. But don’t expect it to be plug-and-play. Be prepared for damaged parts, misassembled components, and a poor instruction manual. If you’re set on buying this, I recommend ordering two units, using the good parts from both to build one functional enclosure, then returning the damaged components. It’s a shame that such a visually appealing product is dragged down by lack of QA and careless assembly.________________________________________📷 Photos IncludedI've attached photos showing the finished enclosure and examples of the damaged components for others to see what you're likely getting into.

Second story pool!
Urtle loves the bathing pool on the second story! 🐢❤️It was easy to assemble (instruction booklet was included) and is not made of pine. That's great!Urtle took a tumble off the ladder and the second story... so, we modifed it with a bit of wood and large rock barrier on the second story, and lifted the ladder at the bottom with a flat rock. This works!I wish the hardware was a little better quality, but I cannot complain since the price point was so good.Overall... recommended with alteration for rambunctious boys like Urtle. 😁🐢
