Fast with Mac Studio thunderbolt 5
Does not work with 2025 Mac studio on thunderbolt 5. It does connect and run on slower usb C ports on the front, but does not show up when plugged into the thunderbolt 5 ports. I went through all the recommended formatting, troubleshooting, using thunderbolt cables, but this does not work. Returning.Edit update: changed from 1 star to five. Customer support resolved the issue. After unplugging all ports, the drive now works, and it’s incredibly fast. The issue was with the M4 max, which requires a power supply for each monitor, so I had to plug my third monitor into a power supply. Unplug all Thunderbolt ports, especially ones that use power if this isn’t working with new Mac Studio. 3400 mb write read speeds are great, considering most SSDs are way under specs for real world testing.

Incredible
Amazing,This is just what I was looking for. It took a western digital 5 TB HDD (hard disk drive) three days to make a Time Machine back up and it took this device one hour. I tried to contact the company unsuccessfully but I'm really hoping they build a 5, 6 or 8 TB model! This is expensive, but incredible......

Thunderbolt 4/USB 4 means lightning fast, no noise, reliable and runs amazingly cool.
Lightning fast, runs cool and noiseless.I recently purchased an Orico R40 USB 4 SSD. That immediately started overheating, slowing way, way down. But here’s the kicker, the Orico drive started causing the Mac to reboot itself in the middle of the night, two nights in a row (which it has never done before) due to kernel panics caused by “SECURITY VIOLATIONS “ (and, yes, in all caps). The Orico drive is garbage though and through. Buy it if you don’t value your data. However, I returned mine on the third day. No problems since.SanDisk drives are more expensive, yes, but well worth it.

I don't get the speed, not even 2000MB/s
Update: I am not sure if it was due to bottleneck of some sort, like if the bus inside the MacBook Air M4 is limited to 2000Gbps and since I am copying a file, half of that is for reading and half of that is for writing, so I ended up getting only about 1000Gbps speed (about 1GB/s). It also matters if you are copying from one SSD to this SanDisk SSD.I tried again today, after reformatting this drive to APFS, and surprisingly, I got about 3GB/s kind of speed, and Blackmagic speed test also gave about 3GB/s speed. So I feel I have to give this drive justice. The previous review:I am using a brand new MacBook Air 15 inch with M4, but the speed I get from this drive is more like around 1GB/s, not even 2GB/s or the advertised 3.8GB/s.I suppose it could be limited by the internal SSD speed of the Mac or the other external SSD. (I tried both). It also could be limited by the USB4 spec of the MacBook Air... so check to see if you will get that speed by asking on other forums, or that you may have to wait till you get a more powerful computer before you actually get the 2GB/s or 3.8GB/s speed.

Very fast drive!
This is a very fast drive. I'm using it to hold libraries and edit videos in FCP without issue. No heat issues so far.

Incredible SSD and Transfer Speeds
Good size and build quality. Exceptional transfer speeds. Was able to transfer 1 TB of data from a MBP to this in less than 5 minutes.
